2. Glyph of Divine Plea (+3% Dmg Reduction while Divine Plea is active)
3. Glyph of Salvation (+20% reduced dmg to the caster while hand of salvation is active)

Glyphs - Minor
1. Glyph of Sense Undead (+1% Dmg to Undead)
2. Glyph of Lay on Hands (+20% mana restored)
3. Glyph of Seal of Wisdom (-50% mana cost on Seal of Wisdom)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Slot Discussion
1. Helmet - No Debate
2. Neck - The 10 man hard mode is pretty nice because it includes a socket. This one is much easier to attain and the other one has a lot of ilvl distribution on expertise.
3. Shoulders - No debate
4. Cape - 10-Man 258 tribute cape is BiS until u can get the 25-man Tribute. It beats the hard mode 25man Jaraxxus one.
5. Chest - While you could use the offset piece here in this slot, its not optimal because you need to wear 4pc.
6. Wrist - Craft ones with 4 crusader orbs and your friendly neighborhood blacksmith. Make sure to leave a tip.
7. Gloves - VoA 25 if you are lucky, otherwise its badges/trophies or a diesel ass hard mode kill on anub.
8. Belt - Various options, get whichever you can.
9. Legs - This is offset piece you want to wear since the tier gear is optimized for mit/threat/hit.
10. Boots - No debate
11. Rings - 2 Clear best in slot winners, one in hard mode 25 and the other in hardmode 10.
12. Trinkets - This is probably one of the most critical/debatable categories. Personally i'm a fan of king llanes and heart of iron. To me the HP clicky on the satrina's is not all too impressive. The fact that it only lasts 15 seconds and is on a 3 min cooldown turns me off quite a bit. I will be passing the ilvl 245 satrinas and not replacing king llane's (~5% avoidance for 20 seconds on a 2 min cd) until i can get the hardmode 258 one. Being able to evasion tank or be less of a mana sink and control burst is fantastic. Definitely should not be overlooked.
13. Weapon - Sucks that all the weapons are at the last boss and are hard mode related. Sorthalis/Shiver will have to do til you clutch it out with a kill. The Tribute and 10-Man Anub HM weapons are very very comparable. And the 258 tribute weapon is total domination.
14. Shields - 25-Man beasts is about 600hp buffed inferior to a full stam gemmed boreal guard. I'd personally use boreal guard til I got me the hard mode 25 man off of Northrend Beasts or the 10 man hard mode one.
15. Libram - No real debate here. If you're doing normal modes the 200 str libram is good for threat/tps/dmg.

if you want to see my progress :)

For badges i went for libram and then the ring.

After this i waited til i had enough badges to buy 2 pc t9 meaning i passed every token til i achieved 120 Badges. This was largely due to my luck in VoA25 and the fact that i use 4pc with freya 25 hm gloves.

So i basically wanted to maintain my t8 4pc because the bv is no laughing matter.

I chose the helm/shoulders to get first combined so the BV lost was made up through Strength and the helmet. Gained quite a bit of stam/armor/avoidance.

Next piece i will be going for is the chest. And if my luck runs well on tuesday in voa and the loot gods drop me some gloves, i'll be rockin 4pc very very soon.

I recommend you try as long as u can to holdout for gloves as u have a chance to get them in voa10/25.

First, sorry for my English. I am using a translator to help myself.

You Say: Glyph of Salvation (+20% reduced dmg to the caster while hand of salvation is active)

...Active on yourself? or ...Active on anybody?

Description of Glyph say: When you cast Hand of Salvation on yourself, it also reduces damage taken by 20%.

¿Can I cast Hand of Salvation on a DPS and also get 20% reduce dmg taken?

¿Are you casting HoS on yourself like a "mini-SW" and reducing your threat?

Thx U.

PD: i think that i dont understand u very well.

It only provides damage reduction when you use it on yourself; other than that, you have it right - it's a mini shield wall effect which comes at the cost of reducing your threat.

voa drops chest/legs/gloves right?

i wish the helm had a little more avoidance, that compared to the 75 badge helm is depressing, then add the fact blizz screwed up and did not scale the BV on our helm/legs with its ilvl,,,, all 3 pieces having same bv etc....

chest is nice, but beasts imo is better, and heroic anub 10 drops one with very very similar stats,

i may go helm next tho, not 100% sure, that or chest..

Ratanna,

How does the 38 hit rating affect your build atm?

I've dropped to 166 hit rating as of late (still considerably higher than yours) and noticed some white misses and the occasional yellow miss (shield). Has the extremely low hit rating done too much to your threat and/or have you noticed any added difficulty with the occasional missed taunt?

Cheers!

Last I heard, Mongoose was finally loosing out to blade warding for most people, thanks in part to more melee attacks, dodge/agil modifier nerf, Parry modifier boost, and the new massive chunk of dodge rating on the new libram.

Also, accuracy is an option if you are lamenting your low hit, and so BD is another option too.

Bleh to our weapon enchant choices now.

I disagree with your ring choices. I actually think that http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47731 and http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47955 are your best overall choices, rather than http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45471 and http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47149.

Nightmare tear is best suited for the helm. As far as the people arguing it offers nothing other than threat they are wrong.

for 1 red socket and a 12 socket bonus you have 1 of two options. Gemming 10 agi/15 stam or 10dodge/15stam or +10 all stats.

You would be stupid to put a blue gem in the t9 helm.

For all of you wondering the exact breakdown of 10 stats here you go (this applies to stats to chest AND nightmare tear)

Fully Raid Buffed
12.65 Strength (6.325 BV, 25.3 AP (27.83 with unleashed rage))
11 Agility (22 armor, ~.12%-.15% Dodge (depending on dr), .21% Crit)
12.59 Stamina (126hp, 3.78 Spellpower which adds to sacred shield)
11 Int (165 Mana, .075% spellcrit, 13.75 mp5)
11 Spirit (bleh)

crits will proc lotp, spellpower adds to sacred shield, str adds to BV.

The numbers aren't VERY huge, but the gain is def worth it in the helmet with a +12 stam socket bonus and it being red.

as far as mongoose goes. Its a very good weapon enchant.
52-90% uptime in many of my parses.

Fully raid buffed:
mongoose gives ~2% Haste (faster melee strikes = more qty of melee strikes = JoL & LotP procs, more tps now that our auto attacks do substantial dmg with the SoV 5 stack change)
mongoose gives 1.32-1.5% Dodge (Depending on ur DR)
mongoose gives 264 armor
mongoose gives 2.53% Crit (crits proc LotP, TPS boost that will allow you to salv more often)

mongoose will proc off melee swings, HotR, and even judgment.

all these are good enough for me to be using them in progression. Great for threat, mitigation, and avoidance

wouldnt

badge helm + tier legs be better than tier helm and jaraxxis legs?

http://www.wowhead.com/?compare=47678:48660;47273:48659

51bv
19def
19 dodge
53 hit

vs

33str
74 parry

If you could produce those parses, it would be interested especially since the highest reported uptime of it is 46% with most coming in just under 40%.

They're aren't saying the nighmare tear is only threat, they are saying it only offers threat over the alternatives. Consider a 10 agil/15 stam gem. The nightmare tear is trading 5 stamina for 10 str plus minimal int benefits. The SS benefits are very poor and actually less than a 15 stam gem! SS no longer stacking means that it's suboptimal for you to keep your own SS up barring a 10 man lacking one.

If you're after TTL in ToC raids, why on earth are you going for anything but 30 stamina gems (and the mandatory 15 STA red)? The two most stressful tank encounters, Heroic Beasts and Heroic Anub'arak, vastly favor higher health over avoidance or minimal armor gains. Threat isn't a major consideration at this point in time even with top of the line DPS.

A couple of nitpicks...The increased haste caused by Mongoose is going to increase threat, but unless you are at the parry cap for expertise, I'm not sure you can consider it a survivability gain. More attacks means more parries, which probably outdoes anything you get from JoL. Also, Inspiration does not increase armor anymore.
