True that anything over 573 shouldn't matter, but, it might explain why Vindication doesn't proc if Imp Demo Shout is used. (It should still proc, it just won't apply. Not sure what that looks like in the combat log.)

This thread indicates that Demo shout is indeed 575 now. Probably to keep it from being knocked off by Vindication.

Either way, there's no discernable difference as far as damage intake goes. You'll get hit for exactly the same (on average) whether it's Imp Demo Shout or Vindication that's providing the AP debuff.

Has anyone analyzed whether this scales with content? If It's a 15-20% damage reduction across all content? (just looking at the last TL;DR comments on the Maexxna parse, for that ballpark percentage).

It's a overall 10-20%ish decrease in the raw damage of the boss, but can account for HUGE amounts on specials. It can almost cut Thorim's Unbalancing strike damage in half.

I wouldn't say cut it in half, but the effect does become magnified when bosses have specials multiplying their swing damage. I'll just assume Vindication working as a 20% reduction for this, since it's meant as example, I have no idea exactly how effective it is on Thorim.

Normal melee: 100% (1) = 100%
Normal Unbalancing Strike: 200%*100% (2*1) = 200% (2)
Vindicated Melee: 100%*80% (1*0.8) = 80% (0.8)
Vindicated Unbalancing Strike: 200%*80% (2*0.8) = 160% (1.6)

It's not just that- the actual UB strike damage has a larger AP componant than Thorim's white damage. so it would be more like

Normal melee: 100% (1) = 100%
Normal Unbalancing Strike: 200%*100% (2*1) = 200% (2)
Vindicated Melee: 100%*80% (1*0.8) = 80% (0.8)
Vindicated Unbalancing Strike: 200%*60% (2*0.6) = 120% (1.2)

What Morendin said. Boss specials have a higher AP component than flat melee hits. The effect is heavily magnified on those.

Mob AP -> DPS conversions are not done the same way players are. A mob doesn't necessarily get 1 DPS per 14 AP.
Demo Shout/Roar (and now Vindication) have shown to reduce mob swings by ~15-20%, and also work for some boss special abilities.
