And, yes, Robb got a couple chapters of his own from his POV - after he left Winterfell but before Cat caught up and started travelling with the army, if memory serves.
I haven't read the 5th book yet, is the series finished? At the pace of the first 4 books, it really seems like the 5th would have to feel incredibly rushed in order to cool all the irons that Martin put in his fire.
Davos's fate is...uncertain at the moment.
But there was never a Robb POV chapter. Everything Robb did was from Catelyn's POV from Book 2 on, as I recall. (Book 1 of course, showed Robb from practically everyone's POV at one point, Eddard, Sansa, Arya, Catelyn, Brann, Jon...maybe even Tyrion, since the first act took place in Winterfell.) He's the only Stark that starts in Winterfell that never had his own chapter, including Jon.
Book 5 is still being worked on, with no release date yet...

Re: Game of Thrones
The first several books were great, but the latest one really fell short. It was missing the storyline of all of the most interesting characters, especially Danerys and Jon. In my opinion, George RR Martin started immensely enjoying his late in life popularity and essentially stopped writing. I've looked at him on his website though and he doesn't look very healthy. I hope he straps in and finishes up the series, or he may be gone before we ever hear the end of his tale. Do you think on his deathbed he'd be satisfied knowing he never finished his contribution to the world?

If you kept reading after the end of 4th book, the author talks about how it started as one giant book. He decided to split it up, with the 4th book being the the first of the epic 2-parter. IIRC, the "demo" teaser at the end of the 4th book (the first chapter in the 5th book) is about Daenerys.

I trust that more. If that date comes from Tor, it could be an expected release date w/out the book being completed.

I disagree with this wholeheartedly. From Book 2 until his demise Robb Stark was more or less a central character, despite NEVER getting a chapter from his POV. In fact that's one of the things I loved, the fact that the person in the center of the war, you never knew what he was going to do, because you never got inside his head.
I find this method to be fascinating. First time I encountered it was in Shardik by Richard Adams. You have a central character, Santil-ke-Erketlis, who's actions and interactions with other characters drive the events of the book, yet you never actually "meet" him. Adams did the same thing with the same character in the prequel, Maia.
btw, for people that enjoy the Song of Fire and Ice books, I HIGHLY recommend Shardik and Maia by Richard Adams (same author as Watership Down). Basically, you get the fantasy feel, without all that magic and goblins and orcs, etc, mess.

The 4th book, once he originally finished writing it was double the size of the book that was published. His publisher didn't want to deal with a book that large so instead they added another book to the series and book 5 will take place at the same time as book 4 but continue with the stories of the characters that were left out from 4.

Does anyone remember the scene in the book where Loras Tyrell blows Renly? Cuz I sure don't. It seems as the series goes on, they are taking more liberties with the story, but I'm still enjoying it thoroughly. The swordfight with Ned and Jamie was teh shiz.

Last night's episode was the first where I felt like I was missing a few things. I missed the Blackfish, and I even missed that last fight scene being at night in the pouring rain (which always made it seem epic in my mind.)
But when trying to fit a massive epic into a 10 episode season, some things have to be truncated.
And yeah, they decided to forego the book's subtelty regarding Renly and Loras, and instead hit us with a brick.
Although I was laughing last night as one of my buddies in the group I watch with flipped out as it never dawned on him that Renly and Loras were a thing, or even that either character was gay. (He's read the books 3 times as he likes to remind us.)

Is it really? I mean, this is the first time since the premiere that something was quite different than the book, and it didn't really make sense to make a new thread.
I also must admit that the Renly/Loras thing was mostly lost on me when reading the book, and I definitely had moment last night where I thought, "Oh, so that's what they were up to."

Nah, I think you got the right one.
