Watched the first episode of Canaan. The show could have promise. Not sure what is going on yet but I like the "style" of the show thus far.

Re: New Anime Season
Bakemonogatari roughly translated as Ghostory is 15 episode show (12 broadcast, 3 alternative broadcast) adopted from a light novel series from Shaft. This anime is currently one of the most searched title on Tokyo Toshokan, but there's currently only 1 English fansub.
The light novels are a serial format where our main character encounters different situtation (and girl) from each storyline. From what I can tell, they're adopting 6 stories, Crab (the current storyline), Snail, Snake, Monkey, Cat and possibly the prequel Vampire storyline.
Thus far, there is a whole tons of dialogue to go through, surprisingly, only 4 characters have spoken dialogue. There's also a lot of on screen writing that the fansubbers will need to decide whether to translate or not (most of them shows up for about 2 seconds and goes away).
The animation and the drawing are very interesting, and thus far,the story is weird, but in a good way.

Anything as good or better than non-dubbed Bleach?

Spice and Wolf II! Just as good as the first season, which is a relief.

On the Dub vs Sub issue.
I will go out on a limb here and say there are in fact English dubs that are very good. Even some i'd prefer to watch instead of subs. I will always prefer to watch a mediocre dub over a bad sub. And there are plenty of BAD subs out there.
On a related note. Bad kung-fu movies are ALWAYS better subbed.

As expected Xing seekers of the McGuffin shows up in this episode. Albeit, they short change May Chang's storyline, and just show you a small taste of Xing Alchemy rentanjutsu. The bulk of the storyline deals with Lin Yao's introduction in Rush Valley.
Can't wait for actual fansub to show up for this episode.

The 2nd OP for Bakmonogatari has come out. And it's as different from the first OP as it gets.
And all of them different from the prequel openning sequence in episode 1. And of course, there's also a new ending for this story arc as well.
This show is shaping up to be the best show of the summer, beating that never ending Endless Eight tripe.

Here, this is a sample video from episode 3. This show have 5 different story arc, and it would appear there's a new OP per arc. The 2nd arc is a bit more comedic than the first one.

Re: New Anime Season
I like dubs. That is, good dubs. There have been many dubs that just fail hard, especially early on in the lifetime of dubbed anime in America. But recently there have been quite a few that GET the original material, cast appropriate actors, and just sound RIGHT. And when those things happen I enjoy watching the dubs as much as the subs (sometimes more).
