[10/25] Malygos - healing through his Vortex

This is a Holy Paladin question.

I notice during Vortex that some spells can be cast. However, Flash of Light gets cut off about halfway through. I'm thinking that if I could get the cast time of Flash of Light low enough, I could cast it before it gets interupted.

Does anyone know how fast I would have to get my Flash of Lights in order to beat the interupt? Is it possible and even worth it to get to this point or is it better to just Holy Shock every six seconds?

We had our elemental shaman able to cast lightning bolts through vortex but this was Wrath of air + bloodlust. (yeah terribad timing on BL).

So unless you want to blow bloodlust just to heal you're better off doing holy shock, and hoping people are in range. Alternitavly you could just get a druid ;p

I believe you move every second while in the vortex, so you would have to be very lucky with timing in addition to being soft capped on haste, or under effects of something like BL to pull off FoL. As far as I know, Scared Shield is bugged on vortex, i.e. it doesn't absorb damage.

What you do during the vortex depends on your other healer.

I two healed 10 man Maly last night with a resto druid. Apart from topping off the tank, my job was to Holy Shock people who get too low - you can see who it's likely to be by inspecting everyone's buffed health before the fight. The rest would eventually be topped off by druid HOTs. You can squeeze two Holy Shocks and one possible instant FoL while in a vortex. If mana is an issue, you can also Divine Please right when the vortex starts to get a few ticks of regen.

Unless you outgear this fight, I don't personally see it healable without either CoH priest or resto druid for vortex healing.

with a trinket proc + my haste set on i was able to get flash of light down to 0.910 seconds and could cast it fine

How much haste would that be? Do you have the specific amount necessary to bring your FoL down to less than a second?

Swapping beacon mid-whirl also works pretty well. Allows you to heal up four targets, plus an instant FoL for each holy shock that crits.
