Theck could you run the numbers for hit versus AP value for threat for the following gear levels:
Early heroics gear
Late naxx 25
Mid to late ulduar 25
I ask for those levels because this guide is especially aimed at new tanks with a side focus on raid tanks.

Sure, as soon as I get some time. The biggest factor that will change between gear levels is STR and STA, so it'd probably be easiest to leave all the rest of the stats the same and just come up with values that reflect STR/STA values at those three levels.
I can already extract the last two from preconfigured gear sets, the heroics one could be extrapolated back from those (or, if you feel like putting together a heroic gear set on chardev, you can just post the STR/STA values and I'll use those).

Early tanks will have lower stamina=>SP, expertise and hit levels too. I can post an early heroic gear set later today.

Changed the some links from mixtures to the actual flasks in line with the flask timers changing.

Given things hit so hard in Ulduar and tanks are focusing more on avoidance rather than BV is anyone using agility food rather than strength food. With crusade spec threat is really a non issue for me so was wondering if I would be better off switching from strength food to agility food for the added survivability? Thoughts.

Both are very popular choices.

I switched to agility food my second week into Ulduar. This is also about the time I started switching to agility gems (versus dodge) and enchants (gloves and weapon.) So yeah, for me, agility was the way to go.

Ok here we go, on enrage timers without survival problems:
potion of speed after bloodlust, or potion of wild magic during bloodlust?
Or some other combination hehe, open to suggestions.

There's some math somewhere that shows speed is better than wild magic, IIRC. I'll see if I can find it.
edit: here-ish

Yes this compared the 2 potions with each others, but not during bloodlust. If the speedpotion caps haste during bl then wild magic could win. Was wondering this for prot and ret actually.

Re: What Consumables to Use While Tanking
Blood lust effectively affects only melee and SoV strikes. It's an overall 13.8% increase in damage scalars (per strike damage not dps) for those two abilities. This leads to cirt being 13.8% more effective under the affects of bloodlust. Now interestingly enough, the changes in our scaling and threat in 3.2 leads to both potion being neck and neck for threat, with me being unable to call a winner without more exact numbers and even then gear differences might mess that up. But for dps, which is what you asked, the haste potion crushes the spell/crit one. The haste potion is ~30% more effective for dps which is unlikely to be unseated by uncertainties in the numbers used.
These results are drawn from theck's 3.2 work and will change some in 3.2.2
remember that outside of bloodlust, the haste potion will beat the spell/crit in both dps and tps.

Alright thnx, I'll use haste for dps when we have enrage issues.
Does anybody have those numbers for ret? EJ seems somewhat divided on that issue.

Haste should crush for ret. Did last time.

Re: What Consumables to Use While Tanking
And I was wondering, actually for both prot and ret, what would give a bigger overal damage increase, using the haste potion during the bloodlust, or outside of it? Or is it equal?

Re: What Consumables to Use While Tanking
On average there is no difference to using a haste potion in or outside of Bloodlust for melee. Now if there is some movement involved it would get trickier but overall you can rest easy knowing haste doesn't scale with itself.
Now please keep in mind that for casters it is possible to get too much haste, where they are casting channeled spells faster than the minimum GCD of 1 second.
