[25]Ignis Burn Strat
So we took down Ignis-10 today. We had him tanked in the water to avoid any fire patches and just OT all the adds while we burned down the boss. Damage on the OT got pretty high but we helped mitigate it in the end by using a mage to help CC the mobs via novas so the OT could get a breeather.
My question is this:
Does the burn strategy also work on 25 man? What is your experience with this?

I'm not sure if you're aware, but math is, in fact, not voodoo magic, and you can't invalidate the
mathematical formulae the game is based on with your nonsense anecdotes

We haven't tried it yet this week, but even last week letting tanks deal with adds as they came, we only ever hit 3 stacks on Ignis and still managed a sub 4 minute kill. Let your dps burn him down, tanks on adds (no one else), see how it plays out.

I don't understand the point of the burn strategy, its not like your 2 OTs are doing anything else useful in that fight so they may as well solo kill the adds rather than have the adds stacking up.

Re: [25]Ignis Burn Strat
The advantages of the burn strategy is being to keep ignis still (at least improving melee DPS) and not worrying about burn patches on the floor. In 10 Man the tanks were complaining that they couldnt kill the adds solo as they had to rely on a lucky crit to get the burst, so on our first few attempts we had mages pop them. Issues we had with all the moving were the OT running out of range of the healers when running to the pools and the mages dying.
Were not the best skilled guild out there, we were close on getting the standard strategy down (4 point kite) however I thought we may as well give one attempt at the burn start and we pwned it straight away.

If by "burn strat" you mean the "zerg strat", there's already a 2 page thread on it, and should be relevant to both 10 and 25 man.
