[Ret-PVE] What DPS you hitting in Ulduar?

Postby semp » Tue Apr 21, 2009 12:53 pm

I was floating between 5.1-5.5K on XT-002 last night still in all Naxx 25 gears. Seems that rogues went from blah to sicko in 3.1. They are 6.2K-6.5K in our raid, all 3 of them. How are the rest of you fairing?

I'm usually somewhere around 4.5-4.7k right now.
I really wish I could work on my gear. I've got a few upgrades that I could use from Naxx/OS/Maly, but my guild isn't running it right now since we're pushing for progression in ulduar.

in 10 man, I'm rocking 38-4200 dps on the 2 dps styled encounters I've been in on, XT and Kologarn. I haven't been in on any of our kills yet. I hate only being able to raid on weds.

Mine's over 9000.

no just kidding. I'm averaging 4.5k on a non gimmicky fight. I hit 6k on XT and Hodir.

I'm having fun working in FoL's and Sacred Shield in the dead GCDs.

Our offspec-retri did around 5.25k dps on XT: http://wowwebstats.com/6zf2vxf5tggq5?s=201347-258795&m
Melees are very lucky on that fight as they never have to worry about aoe'ing adds down. Kologarn is a whole different thing as there are much more adds and aoe'ing actually does some decent damage. Add to that doubledotting three targets and you'll see what dot classes can do there. Unfortunately Disco was healing there instead of dps'ing

I'm hitting 6k easily on hodir (love that fight)

I'm finding on alot of fights i'm actually performing very competively... better yet, this is my offspec set that has since become my main from moving to a new guild and i've yet to get a new piece of loot... still got quite a few ilevel200 pieces... using demise as a weapon (jesus ny 213 ilevel weapon would be 100 dps increase at least... but same as many, guild ain't running t7 anymore :P)

Still i'm loving sacred shield and flash of light instants.

Finding i can keep up reasonably well with the warriors and rogues i'm running with on alot of encounters which is encouraging, especially since they outgear me by quite a bit.

Certainly the amount of survivability and utility we can bring to the table now with divine sacrifice, sacred shield, instant flashes, divine storm healing, 3% damage bonus (since no one is playing bm hunters anymore), even being able to taunt and bubble wall an add in dire situations. I really think ret paladins carve out quite a nice little niche, especially on progression fights.

This isn't quite what you're asking, but I'm pulling around 3k with around three blues in Nax.
