Reminds me of this one time in college I was like, "god I can't figure out what this rock song is, I can't think of the lyrics or how it sounds, just what it is."
my friend tony: "how old is it?"
me: "dunno couple years"
tony: "does it have kind of a techno-y sound to it?"
me: "yeah I think so"
tony: "is it Save Yourself by Stabbing Westward?"
me: "holy shit it is!"

"Walk This Way" by Aerosmith. My dad would dance with me when i was one year old to that song and I have always loved it.

I should have kept quiet and thought a fool then to have typed and removed all doubt.

Anything by Steppenwolf
The Beatles
CCR
Cream
Jefferson Airplane
Jimi Hendrix
Actually, pretty much anything from the late 60's, and all through the 70's.
Can't beat that classic rock. It's what I was raised on through the 80's. My father still has a ton of vinyl downstairs (110+ LP's, I think).
And I'm only 26

LOL! I was going to say Guillex - How old ARE you? Then you helpfully provided your age!
My memories of the 80s involve a lot of Tears for Fears and Belinda Carlisle.

Oh man ... Tears for Fears ... Genesis ... Iron Maiden, Def Leppard... Good Lord ... I'm looking at the Wikipedia page, and all this crap is bouncing back to me.
Bob Seger, JCM, Billy Idol, Van Halen ... Man I love this thread now.

Long December - Counting Crows
Interstate Love Song - Stone Temple Pilots
Those two popped in my head immediately, but I'm sure I could come up with quite a few if I really stopped to think about it.
