[25] Ignus issue, Looking for answers

I go in to tank Ignus 25 tonight. He's listed as doing an initial 20-24k per hit on a naxx geared tank.

He's consistently hitting me for 36-40k per swing, after mitigation and block (I have 63% DR and 2090 block and it's only absorbing 1500 from his hits, btw. My defense is over capped, almost 544.) Has anyone else been getting hit this hard? is it a glitch? (And no, I'm not missing any key mitigation abilities, nor do I have any debuffs.) I'm at a loss.

There is or even was an Issue with the 'Strength of the Creator' buff not being removed after the death of an Iron Construct.

I don't know if a Hotfix has already been applied on european realms.

i had same issue. he hit me for 36k 1,4k block, and 1,3k overkill.
i had around 42k hp buffed and got smashed into pieces by this guy

for 4 tries i dident last more then 30 sec.

though it seems like only a few of the hits was in the 35k+ most was 25k,

first two etemps seem to be quite fair. got hit by his fire spray. which i dident got hit by in the last tries.


the problem also seemed my healers dced and got silenced etc, and if you dont get topped your going down

Think most of us had multiple DC's yesterday. Remind you healers/casters that they will be spell locked if they are casting when the flame jets hit. This is probably quite a bad thing for healers.

From what I have seen and heard the same issue is recurring. My friend in a bigger raiding guild on my server (PvEasy on Shadowmoon) said that the boss is currently bugged and that is why he is hitting so hard.

Boss isn't bugged on my server anymore. But everyone was having that problem. Still having some problems with him 1-shotting DPS from a melee-slag combo.

Seems like blizz realised the 40k hits was a bit to much so: hotfixed and should be live 17 aprill 15.30.

We've made some changes to Ignis' melee attack on Heroic. We reduced his overall melee DPS by about 15% and he swings faster which will make his individual hits less devastating.
In normal mode we increased the cooldown of Activate Construct from 30 to 40 seconds.
We also decreased the damage of the Scorch ground effect by 20% on both difficulties.

Well, 85% of ~35k hits still is ~29k hits. Hardly a paladin niche :)

Look guys, paladins and warriors are fully viable on this boss.

They have nerfed the incoming dps by 15%...BUT they also increased the swing speed.

The net of this is, that the hits which admittedly were hard to take when he had multiple stacks of the buff up, will now be much smaller...MORE than 15% smaller per hit

Simple example...lets say his swing speed was 2.0 and with multiple constructs up he was hitting for 37K. That is the equivalent of 18.5k dps

Lets say they changed his swing timer to 1.5 and dropped the dps by 15%, so dps is now 15.73K. Modify by swing speed and he is hitting for 23.6k per swing.

The combined changes fit our mechanic much better.

Make sense?

I do not know exactly what his swing speed was, nor what they changed it to, as I havent bothered WWS'ing the fights but its a huge improvement in tank viability

I never says warriors or paladins weren't viable.

But suggesting the boss is now a paladin niche is also not correct. Yes, shield bearers will have it easier then before, but there's no advantage for us here.

Ah yeah, hopefully Daelo understands the difference between "dps" and "damage". :) Assuming he used the right terms, the overall dps is 15% down, but the damage per hit could be down much more. Yay block value... heh. Thanks Garath.
