martyr spec better? WTF?

So it seems a tankadin was using a martyr spec and was able to keep agro with no problem and i think more dps. it was on MMO here is the link to his spec.

To me that's a spec that sacrifices defense in the name of DPS, which is not (for me) what a tank is about. In my opinion (your mileage may vary) slowing the boss by 10% is better than increasing my crit chance.

Having seen that and the video, your post confuses the hell out of me. He's not in a Martyr spec, his DPS is not high, and most importantly, he was not even using Martyr.

I'm not sure what you are referring too. You'll need to be more explicit.

Conviction beats SotP when you're in 25man gear. It's a high end spec without JotJ, not a 'Martyr Spec'.

I think we are having a language barrier issue. I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. He's got a PoJ spec, if he was looking to maximize Martyr, he'd have reckoning and be using Broken Promise. He did not use Martyr at all that fight.

SotP and Conviction are about the same in terms of TPS. Take a look at Theckd's MATLAB post in the advanced training forum for more accurate data.

SotP is better for a lower geared tank and Conviction edges out ahead with a very well geared tank.

3% crit + 4% all dmg increased vs 15% increased seal dmg which makes up very little of ur total dmg?
