Full MT build.

MT Build

Can't see a better spot to put any of the points. I understand the merits of Divinity, but I prefer the 3 spare points in DG now that it's a (very slightly) better investment.

So....I wasn't sure if I was going 4/5 Bene or 3/3 HotC and 1/5 Bene. In the end, I know I'll always have a holy for Imp BoM and HotC, but I can't always be sure we'll be judging the same mobs, and his may not have 100% uptime even on a single mob, so HotC will benefit me, and everyone else, where Imp. BoM wouldn't.

Any thoughts, or arguments? Seems pretty obvious now that DG's back. ^^

I plan to move 2 points from DG to Divinity, but that looks pretty much like my build. I don't consider it to be *the* MT build, as with 3.1 there are a lot of variations that have their strengths and weaknesses for MT'ing....and I think that's a good thing :)

Looks like my MT build atm, the 3 points left over to put in divinity, reck or the DS/DG combo are still up in the air though. All depends on how well DG makes sacred shield scale. Ret pally in my guild that had about 1400 spell power had his absorbing 2100 per shield which is higher than the ones I get from the holy pallies in my guild, and that's usually around where my spell power is fully buffed and my stam will only go up as my gear gets better from ulduar.

I understand where divinity shines, but it's the worst type of helpful. Utterly passive.

DG on the other hand:

1) helps my raid utility tool (I understand it's faults)
2) makes me have to recast sacred shield on myself half as often (which is especially useful now that we only have 1 SShield per Pally)
3) last, but not least SShield's 20% stronger.

Divinity's not useless, I just don't have any points for it. ^^

Yes, you are right. Personally I think this is the best build for prot pallies. Its what Ill be going with. TBH, there really wasnt THAT much of a choice on wher to put the points, although I understand why some people puts there points elsewhere.

any opinions on my build.

Way i figure, its more important that the tank stays alive, cause we dont have problems with threat, so I took more of a defensive build to interrupt more, and be easier to keep alive.

I assume you linked a build w/ 2/2 imp HoJ instead of DG or some other talent? I'm at work and can't check.

Well really, depends on what you're doing. I'll be tanking new raid content, so I tried to max survivability in my build.

2/2 Imp. HoJ (which, including our other talent makes HoJ a 20s CD 6s duration stun: aka, pretty good) is nice for 5-mans, but doesn't help in any tangable way for 99.9% of raid bosses.

The only obvious to me is that DG is back and that it is still a talent that has minor benefit. But you have 3 floating points that you need to use to get lower/higher in the tree. I haven't fished around enough yet for numbers but is our SS better than a holy pallies? even with that talent?

I don't even completely agree with DS. But at the moment without experience with Ulduar I'll take it.

I can not remember the last time I used hammer of justice in a heroic and I was tanking, threat isn't an issue. I want it for pvp use.

But everyone's build is going to be the same, with personal tastes on the 3 extra points in prot and some different variant of the 18 in ret.

This is the spec I am going for. I'm picking up Imp HoJ for the same reason as Kracus and I dropped Heart of Crusader for Benediction because all I mainly do is 25mans and we always have a ret paladin.

I'm going for

http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?paladin ... rsion=9733

I personally don't think the extra crit is that valuable, and certainly not comparable to PoJ. Also I like the utility of bringing Improved Might and HotC. Even if we have a ret pally he isn't necessarily attacking my target

Glyph of Judgment is... meh. 10% of judgment threat is marginal.

Benediction still sucks.

I think that:
http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?paladin ... rsion=9742

is probably one of our best bets. 5 points to throw around, depending on needs, I'm currently leaning towards improved seals for more threat but possibly Conviction when I'm not the MT. I also don't group often with either Holy or Ret palies so I picked up the HotC to help out with dps.
