[10/25] That room after Heigann

Postby skolor » Sat Mar 21, 2009 6:16 pm

How do you all do that room? It seems as hard as almost any of the bosses in there for us. We've only one shot it once, and even then it was by having a warlock get through and summon the people who had to release.

Any tips for doing it in one shot?

1 tank walk in front, 1 tank stick with raid.
Tank in front picks up whatever he cans, whatever he misses, the 2nd raid tank picks them.
Ranged interupt + kill tentacles (their mind flay thing hurts).

Walk out of otherside, aoe, profit.

Go through a bit slowly, make sure you get aggro on pretty much everything, make sure people don't go running off ahead of you suiciding.

Use a priest with mind vision to tell you when the left wall is clear of tentacles, then haul ass if you have a warlock. If you don't... haul ass to the far corner and clear then rez anybody dead and run to the bridge.

The only time I've ever had trouble with that room was when we had 8 of us and tried to pull our way to the bridge without taking time to kill anything. If you pull a pack or two at a time and stay near the wall it is pretty easy. Kill the stalks because they will folks, and other than that you can AoE down the grubs.

Stick to the left wall. No healing. DPS only on the bean stalks. Move fast and get out quickly.

Tanks should be the only ones with aggro.

I haven't seen anyone die there in a while.

This is what we do. It works well... hell it had to, the first 3 weeks of raiding in wrath for us we didn't have any locks, lol.

I just hate it when my guild says "Doesn't matter when you run in, we've done it successfully", when it's obvious that there's a hidden "timer" on the appearance of tentacles and if you follow it, you have to fight 2 tentacles along the whole left-wall path, instead of 6-8... Like 1 min of waiting will be so demanding and time-consuming...

The hallway's really easy if you just take your time. Just move slowly, keep consecrate down and kill things as they come. Also make sure you're all grouped up and you're keeping things off your healers as the mobs do hit surprisingly hard for over sized maggots.

Hand of Freedom goes on both tanks so they don't get "snared", round everything up halfway, aoe it down, hand of freedom again, run to the end, aoe down again, done. Healers have to learn to NOT heal even if they see a healthbar dropping.

Our method is to run to the far wall, and then hug it until you get out.

Tanks grab all the maggot-things, and bring 'em along. DPS picks off eyestalks as they can but never hit the maggots. Healers do thier best to heal on the run. Basically charge through at a full run, stop to AoE when you're out.

We don't generally lose anyone, for us it's been both safer and faster than taking it slowly.
