I don't really take it as a 'save the raid' talent personally, for me it's macro'd to Hand of Sacrifice and is used when i'm not MTing and one of our other tanks is to help if they need a shield wall and theirs is down. It was pretty useful the first time we did a few of the 25m fights in Wrath thus far and I can see it providing the same function in Ulduar as we start progression in there.

they initially planned on moving dg on later tiers so i don't think they going to nerf it that much .... although it was really sick for raids :P have 3 palas in raid u got 30 secs of no-damage taken tanking + unlimited raid damage reduction (without taking t7 set into account)

Putting points into Divine Intellect and/or Benediction isn't smart. I think the standard build running around is this. It'll net you much more threat, and mana will hardly be an issue with BoSanc and the change to Guarded by the Light with Divine Plea.

no, dont spec into intellect, reckoning is not a great talent, and benediction is near useless

some of the other builds linked have what you should be going for (applies for heroics too)

I see Divinity as more effective health, especially when combined with imp devo aura (if you don't have a druid).

Interesting idea, instead of increasing health, they increase the heals cast on us.

Alright, i've been reading this thread and tried been comprising a list of all the builds everyone has currently listed, but there were to many different varieties, so I made this simple little guide of sorts.

So far, the cookie-cutter build right now seems to be this.
(Note that I put 4 points in Divinity, this is to get into the lower levels. However, you must put any 3 points into Tier 5 and above to reach 1h Specialization/Sacred Duty, and 1 point into Tier 7 and above to reach Redoubt/Combat Expertise).

The controversial points past this build to be:
- Taking Divinity.
- Taking SotP.
- Speccing SotP and then into Ret to grab PoJ/Coviction/Imp Might/ Benediction :roll:
- Dropping SotP and speccing Ret to grab Crusade.
- Imp HoJ vs. Reckoning vs. Divinity vs. DG
- - Dorvan's LoH build

Personally I'm gonna stick withMy 0/53/18 build.

Interesting notes of my personal opinion:
- The choice between Imp HoJ and DG depends on the encounter and the role that you play in your raid. Divinity is a crappy talent, but not useless to throw points in. Reckoning is still as bad as it ever was.
- It looks like someone's going to have to do some math-craft on the TPS boost of crusade versus Conviction vs. SotP (I'm thinking it will be higher, but not by much).
- The choice between grabbing full Conviction/PoJ, 4/5 Con + Crusade, 2/5 Con + Crusade + PoJ, or any other combination of the three will have to depend on the TPS of Crusade vs. Conviction (and then there's Sanctified Seals...).
- You can not grab both full Sanctified Seals and full Crusade at the same time without taking out some important points from the Prot tree.
- Is the faster cooldown of HoJ better than 2% increased healing from a tank's point of view?

I'm planning on http://ptr.wowhead.com/?talent=sZxVAruMuIIRGoxsb0b right now. 2/5 Conviction and 3/3 Crusade or 5/5 SotP... not sure which. Leanin toward convic/crusade atm.

Same here, PoJ with 2/5 Conviction 3/3 Crusade. I figure the three points out of Conviction to keep full Imp. Might and PoJ is even less of a tradeoff than forgoing SotP for them was.

I wouldve used the mmo calculator but its heavily broken...

I was considering pursuit of justice vs improved LoH...
For imp LoH I have to take 3 points in extra intellect which is a bit wishy wash while going for PoJ doesn't land me with as many "wasted" points..

Reason for PoJ being that I like to be able to manouvre quickly whether its for catchign escaping adds, positioning because of a pat etc.
