Saph Bugged ?
As the title says it, we had problem last night with saph 10 man, basicly the frost aura was dealin damage every second which was every 2 second before, and doubles the damage to heal on this boss, i did some research bout it and find out some 10 mans got it while some dont and 25 mans dont get it ever, so pls dont reply with the offical forum attitude l2p, we were 2 healin saph before but last night we even couldnt get it 3 healed.
i was wonderin if u guys happen to see this too, or have any info about it.

Sounds like 10-man Saph has the frost aura ticking for 1200 damage per second (like the tooltip says) rather than 1200 damage every two seconds (like it used to). Might have been "stealth fixed" in the latest patch.
25-man Saph's aura is still ticking for 1600 damage every two seconds (according to a few WWS parses from 2-Feb) even tho the tooltip says 1600 per second.
Either way, it sounds like frost resist may no longer be optional for 10-man, unless you really really outgear the instance.

this cant be a stealth fix, if it isnt applyn to all 10 mans out there, i mean we coudnt heal it with 10k hps yesterday but some pug can clear it with 2 healers doin 6k hps, 10 man instance requirin 25 man loot to clear is utterly bs and must be a bug, (damn i hope it is a bug)

Hm. I guess this explains some of the annoyance I had healing Sapphiron 10 on my druid. We had 3 healers, quick decurses, and it was still pretty brutal to heal through. I definitely saw 1200 tick every second. Good to know my druid isn't total fail, was wondering how the heck I was burning my mana so quickly trying to keep people alive.

I agree something's boned. Someone probably noticed that the aura wasn't ticking per-second like its supposed to and TRIED fixing it, but only wound up breaking it in more random ways.
What'll be interesting is whether the "lolFrgeerz4nubs" crowd changes their stance when/if blizzard "fixes" 25-man Sapphiron's aura to do 1600 damage per second instead of per 2-seconds.

We had one shot saph last week, but this week it took 4 attempts, no FR gear, just pally aura and MotW, the kill shot was when none of our three healers died and all but two of the dps died. So we ended up essentially three-manning him with three healers for the last 25%, it took a while, but was a lot easier on the healers.
We're going to start requiring FR gear on this fight until we dramatically out gear it.
My question is, I can't seem to get to Uncrit with the 3 pieces of icebane unless I also pop a mighty defense potion (though I actually have more stam and armor overall and my avoidance only drops 7% as compared to my regular set) I've dropped +16 def gems into all the icebane slots and will enchant the chest for +22. I really don't want to regem my pants say to grab the extra defense when a potion will work.
Does that seem like a good approach?

Does resilience still work on PVE mobs? If it does, then won't it give more "uncrittability" than defense?

What good is uncrittability if you don't get the dodge/block/parry/miss from it too? Sure I can be an uncrittable tank with like 40k HP, but have like a 20% chance to midgitate an attack beyond standard armour. I'd be no different from a pvp plate wearer, except be doing less damage and have more threat (but not by much)

Happened to us on Jan 31st too. We mowed down all of Naxx 10 quite fast then did nine tries on Saph before we called it. Only half of us had Frost resist gear and we brought two healers. Our enhance shaman respecc'd to heal but it was not enough since his heal gear sucked. Live and learn.

They do intend it to be in 1-second pulses, but they'll scale the damage so it isn't overly hard.

Once we find out what he bug is and correct the problem, we'll adjust the numbers if needed to closely match the damage that players have been experiencing when WotLK shipped. We're not trying to adjust the difficulty of this fight, but we need to determine what's happening so this bug doesn't cause problems with future encounters.
