[10/25] Highest dps on Patchwerk as Tank
Just curious as to what the highest dps on Patchwerk is as a pally tank. I've been playing around alot tryin' to up my dps/tps and I use Patchwerk each week as my "pure" test. (Although a nice fight with non-undead would be better, this will do :)
Here's a link to my armory, my gear is different than what I run on Patchwerk though, it is a modified spec though.

After getting 540 atleast DR, I make sure I'm Hit capped (I use hit food so I can put more BV gear on), then I put on as much block and expertise gear as possible without gimping my stamina or avoidance.
last week 25 was 3.1k, I screen shot it, but didn't get wws cause the normal guy that does that was MIA and the back up was like....yea...so I was left without somethin' to review :(

Wasn't it established elsewhere that the 969 rotation was highest threat and thus dps and there was no room for exorcism in that rotation? If so, the undead vs. non-undead wouldn't really matter. I personally only use Exorcism as a pulling tool that follows the Avenger's Shield. Then I go into my rotation and never have a spare GCD to leave it.

I use 969 as a guideline not a law.

Meloree, thanks this was almost exactly what I was looking for! Now my dumbness has to figure out how to make it work for me lol.
As for the 696 rotation, I don't use that, I have 2 points in Improved Judgements and 5 points in Conviction for 5% more crit. My rotation is based primarily off of Judging to proc Libram, and ShoR the bosses face as hard as I can.
Other bosses when I'm not MT'ing I just sit behind the MT on threat and make sure no one gets ahead of me....then watch tv.
The build I'm using is a threat build that I'm playing around with for Naxx and other current raids, the only time I respec back to 5/61/5 is for [10] Sarth +3. In case we don't bring ret pallies for Kings.

You are probably actually losing dps if you are waiting for the Libram proc, in the long run.

You can always toggle RF on and off.
I did a little over 3500 dps last week, using a standard 969, without exorcism. Looking at the WWS, I missed a lot. I think I'll try some hit food and maybe pick up a hit trinket for this week.

Libram procs after every judgement, so not much wait time. If I that's on cooldown then it's time to refresh Holy Shield, HotR, Consecration and Exorcism and Holy Wraith. My "goal" for boss fights besides placement, is to use my abilities on cooldown, so that my GCD never stops.
Next week I'll miss the 25 man runs cause of work sadly, so no practice for a bit.

Not using a 969 and waiting at all are causing you to do less dps/tps. The point of the 969 is to make sure you use your best threat abilities as soon as they are available and you be GCD locked most of the time.
Here's my last WWS of patch, it's not my best but it's good enough to make that list. http://wowwebstats.com/fgceiewjxyxyk?s= ... &a=x5941db

It's interesting to me that your white swing damage is #2, and 2% over HS.
Compare:
ShoR 22%
Swing 17%
HS 15%
HotR 12%
Cons 10%
Holy Vengeance 10%
Judgement: 8%
ShoR 27%
HotR 14%
HS 14%
Swing 14%
Cons 9%
Blood Corruption 8%
Judgement 7%

I did the math on this a little while ago in another thread on here.
Using 969, only 1 in 3 ShoR does not have the libram buff for it, but you are using ShoR every 6s. Waiting for the buff, you are using ShoR every 8s.
In otherwords, over a 5minute fight:
Not waiting: 50 shor (34 buffed, 16 unbuffed)
Waiting: 37 shor (37 buffed, 0 unbuffed)
s = shor damage.
34s + 16(s+395) = 37(s+395)
solving for s. s = 637
So, waiting for the buffed ShoR is more beneficial for ShoR damage < 637. Otherwise don't wait.
(example of expected damage difference at s=2000)
not waiting: total ShoR damage = 106320
waiting: total ShoR damage = 88615
difference = 17705
TL;DR Stick with the standard 969 rotation and you will do more dps, and therefore more tps than waiting.

Well I avoided 4% more swings, I wasn't wearing block heavy gear or anything, just a standard tanking set which is a litte higher on avoidance. My melee swing also missed 5% less than yours and had 5% more crits.
Probably just some good/bad luck with the RNG. You are going to get some differences like that with a small sample, because I doubt our hit and crit percentages are all that different.

I got 2.1k in one terribad 25man patch pug.
Pretty nifty i thought as my normal average dps is in the order of 1.3 to 1.5k dps.
this was of course fully raid buffed at 35k health, 1200BV.
