It's ALWAYS gonna be impossible, in every expansion. There is no god-mode in WOW. :)

It was a quick one-pass to see how close the numbers could get. I'm refining it now, since it looks like it might be possible to get close.

Swapping out the chest for Chestguard of the Exhausted, for instance, bring is up to 95.87%.

I had a suit with passive 105% dodge/block/parry/miss in TBC.

Yes, I was pretty bored towards the end.

We weren't talking about block. See now Dorvan has gone and confused everyone for no reason. :)

Semantics is silly. Did anyone *really* think he meant never get hit by physical damage, ever?

btw I'm defense capped. So hooray for that!

Hah, good point.

I wish warcrafter had a way to spit out a listing of gear.

Platehelm of the Great Wyrm - Arcanum of the Stalwart Protector
Nexus War Champion Beads - 16 def gem
Burdened Shoulderplates - Greater Inscription of the Pinnacle
Shadow of the Ghoul - Major Agility
Chestguard of the Exhausted - 2x 16 def gem / 22 def enchant
Bindings of the Hapless Prey - 12 def enchant
Gauntlets of the Disobedient - 15 agil enchant
Fleshless Girdle - 16 def gem
Greaves of Turbulence - Frosthide Leg Armor
Inexorable Sabatons - 16 def gem / 16 agil enchant
Deflection Band
Titanium Earthguard Ring - 16 def gem
Lavantor's Talisman
Rune of Repulsion
Last Laugh - 26 agil enchant
Wall of Terror - 15 BR enchant

97.6% DPBM, probably before DR.

A BS or JC or BS/JC can get closer: socketing gloves and wrist and adding 3x 27 def gems brings it to 99.68, probably before DR.

Blaming Warcrafter. I have a screen shot and everything.

Well, looking at the numbers a BS/JC could hit, running them through the macro that tries to take DR into account:

Code: Select all
/script dr=function(x)return 1/(1/16+0.9560/x)end;DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage("Need 102.4 combat table coverage. Currently at: "..GetDodgeChance()+GetBlockChance()+GetParryChance()+5+dr(GetCombatRating(CR_DEFENSE_SKILL)/122.962))

Gives 93.2%, which is within single digit percentages. I think it'll certainly be possible with T8 level gear. Perhaps not prudent...

You have the wrong head enchant, you should use the old CoT one.

Actually i disagree with a lot of your choices

your second trinket should be either the figurine of the colossus or the repelling charge.

Your rings would be better suited by at least one TBC BR ring

You would get more block+avoidance from +16 defense than 22 agility

The old CoT enchant increases DPBM by 0.01% according to the site.
(edit: I must have changed something else at the time; it's a slightly larger increase)

I did have the old SBR rings initially; swapping in the 7th ring for the deflection band brings the numbers to 100.85.

Changing the cloak enchant brings the numbers from 100.85 to 100.56.

the new head enchant is 3 defense versus 17 dodge rating on the old one. I don't see how you're getting your numbers.

I'll check the numbers on the agility cloak too

with kings and no DR taken into account:
22 agility enchant will yield .4647 avoidance + block
16 defense will yield .5203 avoidance + block

I'm not taking kings into account.

The site assigns 0.77% dodge to 22 agil according to the tooltip; the agil entry on wowwiki hasn't been updated for l80 ratings and I don't have the numbers handy.

I had to repopulate the paper doll when I created an account to save this thing to; the DBPM is now reading 100.77 and I haven't time to figure out what else was changed to account for the .08 difference.

http://www.warcrafter.net/sandbox/126463 is the char if you want to play with it more; my curiosity is fairly satisfied and I need to go pick up my son.

52.08 agility per 1% dodge. Same as our agility=>crit rate.

After running the numbers, assuming rare gems the best in slot pieces for reaching the passive block cap are:

Head
Neck
Cloak
Shoulder
Chest
Wrist
Hands
Waist
Legs
Feet By just a hair!
F1
F2
T1
T2
Weapon
Shield

All before DR which might shift the results on a few pieces

Haven't done enchants yet.

weight was:
Defense Rating: 20
Dodge Rating: 15.63
Block Rating: 35.75
Parry Rating: 12.5
Agility: 13 (assumes kings if you want no kings then set to 12)
