Old Gear still good?

So I was running Heroics, mostly Pinnacle cause it's bein a pain about not dropping the freaking sword, and I had a lack of avoidance (at least for my taste) so I flipped out 2 gems, 1 enchant and I'm using my old T6 shoulders/gloves. My HP went up about 700, my avoidance went up about 4% and I lost a whopping 400 armor.

Is this really a good thing? I'm just sort of baffled at how this worked out. Since I still dont have to use a D-trinket to stay capped I didn't initially see it as bad, but after I thought on it a while I was starting to wonder if maybe I'm making a trajic mistake somehow. Figured it's worth asking.

Use the daunting handguards and blue quest shoulders from one of the level 80 instances. There's no reason to be using tier 6 gear in level 80 heroics.

I replaced the Daunting hands and a set of shoulders that I cant identify off the top of my head. Comping a 1v1 the gem in the T6 gloves beats the crap outta daunting if you have the spare D, which I have. At least that was the intial thought.

I'd be willing to bet that you'd get more avoidance (and block) from the defense on those pieces than from the dodge on your tier gear. Not to mention the strength and armor.

Unfortunately, I can't confirm those values from work.

More true for tankadins then any other class i know of.

I used my T6 bracers for a very long time, better than all the blue ones IMHO.

Sort of a moot point now. Got enough badges for my Tier gloves and Patch dropped the tank shoulders last night. So now my old tier gear is sitting in the bank with the rest of my fond memories.
