The only times I've ever seen anyone have real problems is if they're quite laggy. There has been the occasional time when I've been very close to dying due to lag right as the polarity shifted, so it took a couple of seconds for my polarity to change after the casting of polarity shift finished.

Well that's uncalled for. Besides the fact that blizzard is the source of the lag on most servers the fight itself is stressful on weaker PCs. It might be the highest concentration of people in a 25 man raid. You have render all the spells, characters and effects on them at once. Not to mention that the time given for a switch just enough for someone with good latency and without a choopy framerate.Salamandra wrote:Tell people to stop downloading porn for 10 minutes. I was joking.
Yeah, some nights Naxx and Malygos (particularly in phase 2) have been nearly unplayable due to server-induced lag.

DeadlyBossMods will put a big arrow on your screen to move if your debuff changes. You'll have to have a brain for the first debuff, but after that, the mod will yell at you if you should move.
Stress to the raid that everyone who gets negative goes to the LEFT, positive goes RIGHT. Assuming people don't drop dead the first debuff, the rest should be (relatively) smooth sailing.

We had problems with people dying on the first shift because they were spread out too much, so now we have each platform group come together on their side as if they had the same charge. That made things a lot easier, but we still sometimes got problems due to lag and/or ADD.
P.S. some ranged also had problems with the "stay at minimum range to minimize running distance" concept.

A major problem many people have: they run AROUND Thaddius, not THROUGH Thaddius. He has no cleave, no splash, nothing. Make sure they go right THROUGH him.

We just got our raid to group up ontop of the tank at the start. Then, when the first debuff hits, you simply run left or right depending on your debuff. Since we started doing this, we have had 1 death on the first polarity.

Start facing the boss. When polarity comes - negative goes left, positive goes right. When polarity changes, run through the boss to get to the correct polarity.
Rinse repeat.
Use this for pinpointing the people who just don't get it.

Amusingly, A.D.D. people would probably be better on Thaddius than those who are not.

Running through Thad causes huge problems for anyone with lag issues. We use the "pass on the right" method for this reason. Having someone call polarity shifts in voice seems to wake folks up. (Especially healers that are zoning out watching health bars)

First thing's first, make sure you're doing a strategy that involves having set sides for polarities ( negative Thaddius positive, as seen from the entrance). If you have that set up, then it's up to the raiders to understand.
If people are lagging, have them disable or unfilter/whatever their combat log. Notify that polarity shifts are coming at about 5-7 seconds, and again when it is casting.
If people can't move to the other side within the 4 second window (yes, it's a huge window. I don't care if you have a high latency or poor framerate, you've still got about 4 seconds to get over there), then you should consider replacing them. Yes, it's harsh, but this fight is really tight for some raids... and you're certainly not going to get far in tier 8 content with players like that.
