AP and SP scale with threat linearly
SLOPE of AP line: 0.583227
SLOPE of SP line: 0.56973087
But the graph is scaled based on item points, as 2 AP costs the same as 1 SP. So, item points spent on AP are effectively 2.04x as useful as SP.
Note: The graph was made using Psiven's spreadsheet, inputting arbitrary numbers in for AP and SP, producing TPS.

Expertise and hit rating give you a % increase, thus multiplicative.
All complex ideas start with simple building blocks. If it's so obvious that AP and SP are linear, it helps to see it to understand the mechanics upon which our total threat is built. At this point, I'm convinced that hit, crit, and expertise are all linear as well. I should have more obviously linear graphs up tomorrow. If these assumptions are true, that should make for a very simple N-d threat space, and make figuring out how to maximize threat similarly trivial.
