Did my first ZA full clear
Not with my tank but with my hunter.
Had a freakin blast!
That 30% nerf sure did make the bosses easier. I can only imagine how much harder Zul'jin would be. But we had the most problems with Hex. He did this shadow attack that hit everyone for 3-500 a pop. Annoying as shit.

Pre 3.0 you almost had to have a CoH priest or pair of resto shamans for the shadow bolts. Now you could have nearly any healer handle it. If you raid really has trouble with it shadow protection pots really help.

The damage would vary, had one person die and my pet got pwnzd. But yeah, Hex was the toughest fight. ZJ was just a burn fest.

First of all... Grats!!
ZA is definately my favorite BC raid. We killed ZJ a couple times pre patch with some better geared friends in the raid, but were super-happy to get our first all-guild ZA clear the night before 3.02, despite having a couple undergeared dps in the group. The hardest part on Zul'Jin for us was people getting over-excited going into the dragonhawk phase, and either not watching aggro on the transition, or seeing him at <10% and not watching fire pillars. Thanks to having a really good circle priest, hex lord frusterating, but usually died after a couple tries.

ZA was a fun instance to learn, I liked the sense of urgency it gave you when you were going for chests, and in general the fights and paths to the bosses are very well designed for 2 tanks to equally have an important role.. Eagle trash one tank must escort the party, other secures the back, Bear boss both tanks must perfect switching off the boss to avoid stacking debuffs, Dragonhawk was the penultimate fight for a Pally tank to earn his keep by tanking the Hatchling egg sides, and both tanks must be aware during Lynx boss.
I'll def miss the place, hopefully they design some innovative instances in Wrath like they did with ZA.

We just did our first clear last night as well!
Previous attempts got us stuck at Hexlord.
Even better is that all our previous runs were with me tanking (I tanked our first kill on dragonhawk), but I got to lolret last night with two warriors (one of which is usually arms) tanking. Run was smooth, no wipes.
And I topped the damage charts every single fight, usually getting 1300-1400 DPS
I need to have a talk with our other ret pally, though, I noticed he was in a mix of DPS and spellpower guild...hoo boy.
