The screwhead is closer to the camera than the spider. You're experiencing a camera trick.

Well clearly you all are mistaking the skyscraper the spider is on for a net or something, and thus failing to realize the spider is actually several hundred feet in span.

I'm not overly scared of spiders (unlike my cousin), but then I don't particularly care for them either.

Spiders kill and eat flies, and while I scream and run like a girl if a spider comes near me, I happen to like flies less than spiders.

That looks like a pretty average size spider. The ones currently coming into my house in the UK I keep having to ask to leave their boots outside.

The ones in my area range from harmless to untreatable wounds that will slowly kill you (well... if you get bit more than once).

I hope someone kills the one that has been hanging out in front of my window. He scares me. Plus I think he's been trying to build a web to encase the house to eat us all. (He's tried to web our front door twice now!)
