IIRC this spell goes off melee +hit rating but does anyone know how much of this stat you need for it to never miss? Lets assume the Precision talent has been taken.

If it's going on melee hit then it would be 9% right? If not then theres 17% chance to resist it. I hope it's 9% :p. So with precision, 6%, if you took 3/5 WE as well, 2.9%. 5/5 WE and precision leaves only 2.5% hit to be made up, as you ar enon human.

It MISSES, it can't be blocked or parried. This means it's a PHYSICAL attack, not affected by spelldamage. Much like Aimed Shot or Steady Shot from hunters.

Since we use 1H+Shield for tanking: One-Handed base miss chance.
5% + (0,04 x ((targetlvl x 5) - 350)
versus a boss: 5% + (0,04 x (365 - 350) = 5,6%

HOWEVER! When I have a look at my Avenger's Shield statistics I get a 15-17% miss chance, even with Precision.

So you can assume you need 5,6% to theoretically not-miss AS anymore. Tho don't rely to much on your and my assumtpions.

(2H **Unconfirmed** Base miss chance = 8% (8,6 on bosses))
(DW Base Miss chance = 24% (24,6 on bosses))

Can anyone confirm that WE really does affect the hit rate of AS? That would be huge.

10 Weapon skill means:
+0,5% hit
+1% crit
-0,5% to miss
-1% to be parried
-1% to be dodged

All and all... For melee:
+2% hit versus anything (anything can dodge & be missed)
+3% hit versus anything that call also parry

For ranged, keep in mind: Avenger's Shield can not be parried or dodge, so it's THEORETICALLY +0,5%hit & -0,5% to be missed adding up to +1% hit!

Does this affect Avenger's Shield? It should... But my avenger's shield doesn't seem to hit more often due to the use of Precision & Weapon Expertise. I could be just unlucky, so I can not without a doubt confirm if it does or does not get affected by Precision & WE.

If anyone has done extensive testing or a blue post regarding what affects avenger's shield, I would love to see it as well!

You only get the huge hit bonus of 3/5 WE against a raid boss. For trash it's only .3%.

For some odd reason, I took 5/5 1H Specialization over WE....Oops.
Oh well, I had to respec last night for tonights Gruuls anyways...:(</3healing.

What are the best gems to socket for +Hit for us tanking? +4Hit&4Agi gems? That's something i've been completely ignoring. o.O

I doubt, that WE will do anything to AS since AS has no weapon type. So only pure +hit could help here.

I'm pretty sure on this because i very rarely noticed misses by pulling with my "The Decapitator" until now (have used it about 30-40 times)... and i have my axes skill at something far far away from 350.

Uhh... 5/5 1h spec >> 5/5 WE.

That's 5% more damage from everything you do while you have a 1h weapon equipped. AS, HS, BoSanc, etc. Not JUST white damage or seal damage with a 1h weapon.

Incorrect. Base miss chances with 350 weapon skill are thus:

v. Level 70: 5.00%
v. Level 71: 5.50%
v. Level 72: 6.00%
v. Level 73: 9.00%
