why should i pick blacksmithing and why should i pic JC?

i see great trinkets in jc( but well not the end of the world if u dont have them)

blacksmithing...i dont know if its ok too try lvl up this till the wotlk and whats the benefits of do so in the wotlk.

can any one help?

TLDR:


1: Blacksmithing - Exclusive sockets = extreme flexibility in profession specific bonuses. The profession is far from done as the specialties haven't been populated with recipes yet.


2: Jewelcrafting - Exclusive gems = flexibility in profession bonuses. If the trinket gets an epic upgrade that is comparable to the raiding trinkets and BS gets nothing new of note, this could easily push to be #1, but its too soon to tell.

Respectively #1 and #2 professions for tank.

Becuase the two professions synergize well. Each JC gem is worth 1.5 normal gems. This means that each BS added slot is worth 1.5 times more if you have JC.

Thats not true unless your gear has no sockets. The JC gems are unique equipped (3), meaning you can only have 3 equipped at a time. There is no "synergy" but they are both excellent picks.

The arguably bigger draw for JC gems is that they are prismatic colored. This allows you to put the JC stam gem in a yellow or red slot and still get socket bonuses as well as meeting the requirements for meta gems.
