How to use the traps in phase 5?

Because you can
1) Screw demon phase placement if the trap is in some strange place (like in the middle of the grate)
2) Turn him facing the raid... Draw Soul... hi +20% HP
3) Get out of range/LoS from healers
If you're tanking him properly with your back to the wall 1 and 3 strictly cannot happen. Also 2 would only occur due to a possible bug or poor tank move.
I'm aware some guilds handle phase 3+ with illidan on the grate, but it's not as efficient imo.

Ignore the traps imho, if your killing him and plan to one shot him and using a warrior, let him Last Stand the first one and shield wall the second one. He should be dead on the 3. one for sure.
We tried moving him to the traps and the raid leader even went banzai when a trap was in front of the tank but would have faced illidan towards the raid.
Didn't know of the intervene trick, so basicly one person runs behind the trap, the warrior intervene/charges to that spot and illidan runs and gets trapped?

Why not? (We don't, but purely outta habit) if you tank him on or around, or the opposite side of, said grate there is no pillars to worry about when the demons spawn, giving you more people to spread closer to him to intercept them immediately without putting people in a critical position of almost immediately next to the boss, it also means there's room for melee to get involved.
nani shini umareta no? nani shini koko ni iru?

The only time you should EVER bother with traps is when it is placed directly behind you and simply walking backwards will trigger it. Also, it isn't you stepping on the trap that matters, its Illidan stepping on it.
In all the Illidan kills my guild has had, we've used a trap once. Just pop your pocketwatch and lol at big red illidan before he turns into big black illidan, and then into big dead illidan.

Arthas, we're coming for you. (Eventually)

And then he turns into a big bad wolf and starts spamming /1 with Big Bad Wolf's Paw?

The pillars aren't a problem for the eye demons if you're spread properly anyway. There's no positional advantage to tanking him on the grate (besides having to move him initially... which gets him away from the left over flames anyway).
I think you're saying people can get closer to him to intercept the eye demons faster. Instead of being slightly further back giving people more time to get to the demons.
