Holy Paladins the best healer in the game
Glyph of Holy Light - Your Holy Light grants 10% of its heal amount to up to 5 friendly targets within 5 of the initial target.
COMBINED WITH
Beacon of Light (Tier 11) - The target becomes a Beacon of Light to all targets within a 40 yard radius. Any heals you cast on those targets will also heal the Beacon for 100% of the amount healed.
Judgements of the Pure - Your Judgement spells increase your casting and melee haste by 10% for 30 sec.
AND
Infusion of Light - Your Holy Shock critical hits reduce the cast time of your next Holy Light spell by 2.5 secs. (Holy Shock 6 sec cooldown)
AND
Light's Grace - Gives your Holy Light spell a 100% chance to reduce the cast time of your next Holy Light spell by 0.5 sec. This effect lasts 15 sec.
AND
Haste Rating
Spiritual Attunement - A passive ability that gives the Paladin mana when healed by other friendly targets' spells. The amount of mana gained is equal to 10% of the amount healed.
PLUS
Spirit Link - You link the friendly target with up to two nearby friendly targets, causing 50% of any damage taken to be distributed to the linked targets. If any target takes a blow greater than 30% of their health, or shared damage would reduce a target's health below 20%, the link is broken. You can only have one link active at a time.

Chain Heal - Heals the friendly target for 826 to 942, then jumps to heal additional nearby targets. If cast on a party member, the heal will only jump to other party members. Each jump reduces the effectiveness of the heal by 50%. Heals 3 total targets.

Beacon of Light is not that great yet. If they make it include overheal then it would be very nice but right now it doesn't.
Spirit Link is a SHAMAN talent.
Chain heal is a SHAMAN spell.
And where do you get the idea that plate is somehow useful for holy now?

Spirit Link can give us damage.
If we take damage, our Plate Armor reduces it.
If we take damage, Chain Heal will likely heal it up and give us mana through Spiritual Attunement.

First, Holy light gets a splash effect.
Then, add Beacon of Light.
Then, add 10% haste from Judgements of the Pure to Light's Grace and your normal spell-haste for lots of fast holy lights. Quick Holy lights combined with instant Holy Lights from Infusion of light.
You Beacon of Light the tank who will get healing = targets you heal around him. Add in extra splash healing from the glyph. A shaman links you to the main tank, you have plate to help you to survive the link, the shaman chain heals the tank and hits targets also getting your splash from holy light.
You gain gobs of mana back from Spiritual Attunement because of the link to keep bombing raids members, which bombs the main tank, while splashing healing all over the raid.

Sounds like Holy would be a lot more fun than it is now. I think I'll still be going with Ret for my offspec though.

Can Spirit Link be stacked? If you could stack two of them on there, it might not hit for 30%, and Holy Paladins could be quite powerful.
