Crushing Blows

I got Crushing Blowed but I am not sure if this is because this mob is probably 80 and I am 70... or what?

That mob is a skull to me.

I'm wondering if the removal of Crushing Blows is on Raid Bosses only and they left them in on other mobs to continue the dangers of fighting things stronger then yourself.

I believe they eliminated crushing blows for mobs 3 levels above you, but kept them for mobs 4+ above you. So raid bosses can no longer crush, but they can keep the mechanic for other mobs that simply out-level you.

Just out of interest, what sword is that? Is it a melee weapon you decided to go for rather than a spelldamage one? Any linky on wowhead?

that Mob is "skull" level from the picture, so he would be 3 levels higher than you, not 80 something or even 4 levels.

EDIT: or am I mistaken? I could have sworn that drastically higher enemies are "??" level and skull level were bosses, but it has been a while.

The "level Skull" thing is used for both raid bosses, 3 levels higher then max level for the content they are raid bosses for, and things that are 10 (or more) levels higher then you, so that thing could be a level 80+.
