Yeah, it seems that gathering professions will be giving you a stat bonus for having them (Herb is Spirit, Skinning is Crit, Mining is Stam)

I think progession guilds might be seeing more miners, although I know a lot of MTs who are enigneers, blacksmiths, and jewelcrafters, so I don't see this being two bad.

Im JC/Engy. I like them both and I'd hate to have to give one of them up to be on equal footing with a JC/Miner, Engy/Miner or BS/Miner.

Just wait and see what the new engy trinkets and helms and crap look like.
We still only have a small fraction of the picture right now for what is to come.
Now is not a time to make hasty decisions or changes.

Besides, when push comes to shove I've got a terrible profession combination from a min max perspective (herb/alch), and I really never felt gimped by it. 35 stam certainly is nice, but when you look at how things are scaling up, that's closer to 16-18 stam in TBC terms.

I know no one cares too much but since we will scale with AP the improve blessing of might talent is not 50% from 20%
