WotLK - Personal Buff Limits and Raid-Wide Buffs

Hey, you know how you hate when your flask gets pushed off when you're tanking Brutallus?

What's gonna happen when you've got 2 extra sets of totems, an extra shout, and 2 more auras on you in addition to other new and exciting raid buffs?

Think they'll up the personal buff limit?

I never had any buff getting pushed out. Unless you raid with 3 resto druids, then i can see that happening.

Plus, if it removes them in the order they were applied, RF disappearing would suck, and I'm fairly sure I'd notice it.

Didn't they make flasks high priority so they couldn't be pushed off? I've never had it happen but I think I've lost a few lesser buffs now and then.
This is certainly a concern though. IMO (de)buff limits should basically never be reached by players. If it presents a serious memory issue then they need to code it better.

At the moment the only situation where you get to buff limit is when you got a stupid amount of holy paladins and resto druids.

One of our tanks has had a flask pushed off once before. I haven't had it happen to me personally.

I know our prot paladin lost his flask at least once each vs. Flames of Azzinoth and Brutallus from buff limits. Hence why this popped into my head.

I had a flask pushed off on Brutallus a few weeks ago. It sucked.

Buff/debuff limits are definitely reachable, it sucks. My judgements get pushed off all the time.

Hmm. I'm gonna try that excuse next time I tank flames. Those flasks aren't cheap!

Debuff limit is for sure reachable, expecially in "tank n spank" fights like Brutallus.

Buff limit is way harder to reach however.

I think WoW uses the same limit for buffs and debuffs. Most of the time it means basically the same thing (since players tend not to have many debuffs and mobs tend not to have many buffs), but looking at a typical Brutallus, when I've got Wings up, during a Stomp, I can easily have:

Righteous Fury
Flask of Fortification
Well Fed
Blessing of Kings
Blessing of Light
Blessing of Sanctuary
Blessing of Wisdom
Mark of the Wild
Power Word: Fortitude
Arcane Intellect
Divine Spirit

Totalling 37 buffs and debuffs, and not counting any hidden buffs (of which there will always be a few). Cap is what, 40? I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff too.

I think it's a lot easier to hit the current buff limit than you realize.

Reckoning
Trinket procs (pocketwatch + commendation)
A misdirection could happen in that time
3 totems (stoneskin, mana spring, grace of air?)
Tree of life aura

Just to name a few more possibilities. With Holy Shield/Redoubt/Reckoning/3 totems on you, that's over the 40 buff/debuff limit. Boom, 3 buffs are gone.

I'm pretty sure that debuffs and buffs are capped separately.
