It's a virtual certainty that JotJ works on bosses, and that it doesn't stack with TClap.

Nice panic buttons we got. Hard to choose one.

Oh there is one, 30% to my critical heals, finally I can heal myself while tanking...

at least we got holy shield trainable at level 40... oh wait a second

Just playing with the math of hand of salvation.

Assuming no threat capping and constant TPS from a DPS'er, it would be an 18.311% reduction in threat if used on the dps'er every 2 minutes. If the DPS'er spikes low on threat while it is up, then the effect will be less, and if the DPS'er spikes high, then it will be more.

let t = TPS, assuming constant non-threat capped.

you will be able to cast this every 120 seconds, but 10 of those will be spent decreasing overall threat in increments of 2%.

@111 seconds is the first 2% drop
@112 seconds is the second 2% drop

@120 seconds is the 10th 2% drop

So we have:

@111 secs: 111*t*0.98
@112 secs: (111*t*0.98 +0.9*t)*0.98
@113 secs: ((111*t*0.98 +0.9*t)*0.98 +0.9*t)*0.98
and so on.

This becomes an repeating series of the form:

111*t*(0.98^10) + 0.9*t*[0.98+0.98^2+...0.98^9]

I won't go through the derivation, but [0.98+0.98^2+...0.98^9] is equal to (0.98-0.98^10)/( 1-0.98 )

This simplifies the equation to:
111*t*(0.98^10) + 45*t*(0.98-0.98^10)

and
[111*(0.98^10) + 45*(0.98-0.98^10)] * t

This is the total amount of threat the DPS'er generated over 120 seconds with hand of salv up. Without hand of salv it would have simply been 120*t

Dividing the two gives the percentage (the "t"s cancel out):
[111*(0.98^10) + 45*(0.98-0.98^10)]/120 = 0.81689

So with hand of salv up, the DPS'er did 81.689% of his threat had he not had the Hand of Salv applied.

That in turn is a reduction of 18.311%

It may be marginally useful, assuming that it will count for things like ProM and Earth Shield.

not that this necessarily effects us, but from what i've seen Lay on Hands got hit with a big nerf bat.

WTB some talent merging in the prot tree. Oh, and Dorvan working out if the Tier-1 holy talent beats reckoning.

Vaguely annoyed by the fact that I need to work out of SoV beats SoR for tanking. Given our 51-pt also somewhat confused what weapon to be using. Spellpower for AE, warrior for MT?

I wonder if our Tier-7+ sets will have spellpower on them...

the the weapon damage on the 51 point talent is kinda weird, but i think that's the whole merging what classes use what stuff, maybe we're supposed to get all of our spell damage through the stamina thing, then threat modifiers do the rest, but i have no idea

Erm, correct me if im wrong but it was buffed. No longer drains all your mana and the CD is down to 20min from 1h. I am happy with that :P

Also, I want to know if it will be better to keep a spell damage weap for Seals, consecrate and other spells over a melee tanking weapon for Hammer of the Righteous.

It has a dual purpose, I think. When you get to something you're not tanking, turn on seal of command and equip a 2-hander. Without righteous fury you shouldn't agro, and you have a fake crusader strike.

Seems to me blizz has given us 2 acceptable (although obviously weaker than main-spec) options: holy/prot tank/heals or ret/prot tank/dps.

Think about the 51-point talent for a minute: with a 2h weapon, it's gonna hit better than thunderfury. We CAN dps much more easily.

I'd be surprised if the theorycraft didn't return both as usable with the right gearsets. Expect a 10-20% gap, and of course we don't have the "shadow priest" mana restore of ret or awesome endurance of holy. Still worlds better than we are now.

woops, meant to say that the Holy tree's Improved Lay on Hands was nerfed
