Dailies as prot suck

I just grab my shadow priest husband and we go to town. He grabs a bunch of mobs on his horse and I lay down a consecrate.
When Im on my own, I either use my prot gear and block stuff to death or, if its a caster, don my spelldamage/holy stuff.
