The first time I went to ZA, the MT tanked probably 5 phases of him straight because I failed at timing taunt.

Hahaha.. Epic fail

Just yesterday my off-tank warrior (I know.. >_> PuGs ftl) taunted him on his first human phase (missclick aparently..) a few seconds into the fight.

Also he kept straving to the side in the beginning, making me take cleaves alone :<

I think he didn't like me..

Wouldn't say getting the taunt timing wrong is epic fail, the troll phase is hard to get right (he can actually lack a target during his first attack), and the bear is easier, but you still need to wait for the first attack to be sure. Taunting this guy as a paladin is not a click and win plan. (Yes, some people never encounter it, gg to you, for those of us that do, it really doesn't make it easy).

Best plan I found is simply the over aggro the other tank and tank from there plan half the time, just ride 109% of their threat and push over when you want to tank, harder to do later in the fight but early on can be a life saver.

It can't be a question of gear, i solo tanked this (about 2 mins ago, great feeling) because our offtank Dc'ed at the warbringer pulls and the healers had nothing but kara/badge gear. Did it with about 21k armour, 19k hp and 27% dodge.

Isn't there a trinket from searing gorge that removes bleed effects?

Do you mean this trinket? http://www.wowhead.com/?item=19141

When TBC was first released it was patched with the level 60 limit.

I wouldn't say tanking both forms was impossible. I have numerous times failed my taunts, sometimes 3 times in a row until I decided to wait like 5 seconds after this first attack whenever he changes forms. At one point our warrior ended up tanking him completely, and at that time he was mainly in Badge/ZA gear. Well the good thing about this fight is the only raid damage is when he charges in human form, so most of the time the healers were spamming heals on a single target.

Almost 100% sure you can bop away the debuffs so shouldent be that much a problem to remove it and just keep on going especially if you got a holy pallydan in the raid.

BoP definitely does NOT remove the bleed effect. I had an undergeared pug OT go down very early in the fight, and after I burned my DS, I tried to BoP myself, and bleed effect did not go away.

I solo tanked him from 84% last night.

I had a taunt resist, other tank died.

It was a close call when I was soaking the full cleaves as well as the extra bleed damage.

Only had 2 healers.

I bubbled the next transition.

But if they could heal me through one of those phases... they could have healed me through 2.

So yeah, it's solo tankable. With 3 healers it would have been even more of a joke.

I've done it from 95% onwards. Warr tank accidentally sat and he went bye bye.

This was what I did:
Stoneformed in bear form when deafening roar came out,
Bop'd in bear form as an alternative to stoneform
Bubbled out of mangle debuff.

With stoneform and bubble having 3 min cooldowns and bop on a 5 min cooldown, I was ok. Also, I had pain supression, so it wasn't that hard for me.

YMMV
