That said the only real change I make when healing a pally is not using Earth Sheild if it's not needed. That's because the heals form earth sheild will not restore mana as it counts as you healing yourself.

Actually, you do get mana back from an Earth Shield heal:

47'10.844 Wulfhere's Earth Shield heals Wulfhere for 875
15:47'10.844 Wulfhere's Retribution Aura hits Midnight for 30 Holy damage
15:47'10.844 Wulfhere's Seal of Righteousness hits Midnight for 167 Holy damage
15:47'11.203 Wulfhere gains Holy Shield
15:47'11.266 Wulfhere gains 87 Mana from Spiritual Attunement

Also from ProM:
21:03'09.296 Nalorakk's Lacerating Slash dots Wulfhere for 1631 Physical damage
21:03'09.437 Wulfhere's Prayer of Mending heals Wulfhere for 1876
21:03'09.734 Wulfhere gains 188 Mana from Spiritual Attunement

Yes I've noticed even the final heal from life bloom works as well. I wonder if patch 2.1 also is the one that has earth shield count as the shaman's healing and not its target healing or if recount is to thank.

Last time I had an earth shield on me I just asked the shaman to avoid it as it seemed not to give me any mana, but I might be mistaken. I'll give it a try if possible.

I'm a holy pally, and personally I would much rather heal a warrior in a raid, and I'd much rather heal a paladin in a five man. Warriors in my experience simply take less damage than paladins and in many cases have more health. In a five man though I'd certainly rather have a paladin tanking due to consecrate.

that's because of thunder clap, which reduces nicoming damage over time by 20% easily.

Hint: Thunder clap doesn't require the warrior to be tanking.

From my healer, who's sitting across the room from me:

"I cast Renew and PoM every time they're up, and then rotate between Flash Heal and Greater Heal, switching to more GHeals to catch up if needed."

He's kept me alive through some crazy shit, so i tend to trust him =D

Dont forget defensive stance > righteous fury

Edit: Twodps from your health argument, you are suggesting that warrior tanks are generally more geared than pally tanks.

Side note: Have two full T6 groups run all the heroics in a race. One group tanked by a pally, the other tanked by a warrior. Which group u think will win the race? Whos group would u rahter heal now!
