Normal SL, BM, and SV
Hello Everyone! My second tankadin is at level 65 and beginning to look up toward the level 70 non-heroic instances. he's preety well geared with tankatronics atm. As rushing to get kara geared is important atm (I'm grinding Durn for rep) I don't want to waste any time. If I could be running level 70 instances before than I want to know. So here is my question: When did you all first tank SL (would only be up to first boss), BM (entire instance), and SV (entire instance). 70? 69? 68? Thanks for the advice!

I had a leveling grupe and we did sv from 67-70
didet had tanktronic before 69 as nethers were bop back then i had my frist drob at 69.
we were
Feral druid
Tankadin
Priest
Mage
Lock
we keept doing sv as we wantet rep for the druid and cloaks for both of us, but you will need cc if you do it at 67
but at 68 you can tank em all i think, if your gear isent all crap

Did SV at level 67, it was hard work, but it worked up until the last boss where I just didn't have the gear to take the beating.
SL kicked my arse at level 69 though.

Be careful when you argue with trolls, lest you become one.

I guess it depends on how good geared the rest of the group is. With a group of:
*Tankadin
*Warlock (HP buff + CC)
*Mage
*Shaman (Agility totem for avoidence)
*Good healer
You could go through some of the instances. Maybe tankadin, mage x3 and healer is better as you get one more sheep. Or mage instead for shaman.

On my tankadin alt i tanked all the normals for Kara key except Arca at 68.
Perfectly doable as long as you can somehow get 10-11k HP (buffs and whatever)
You'd want a good healer for BM, Aeonus will spank you hard at 68 (crushings and crits)

QFT
BM is quite tough, even at 69 as you will take crits and crushing blows. Crits during timestop will wipe the group. I tried tanking BM around 3 times at 69 and could never defeat the final boss (always dying during or immediately after timestop).
The best thing that you can do to gear up for 70 is to run Durn until you hit revered (or are close enough so that one BM run + quest cashin will get you to revered). The second thing that will help you more than anything is getting enough cash for a flying mount the moment you hit 70. You will then be able to begin grinding Sha'tar rep for the heroic key (heroic mech being one of the easiest heroics to find groups for) and eventually the sheild. Finally, the moment you hit lvl 69, you should begin running steamvaults until a) you get devilshark and b) you hit revered for the neck.
Doing these things will dramatically speed up your progress once you hit 70.
KoT rep, CE rep + devilshark and a head start on a flying mount are the greatest pre-70 investments that you can make to your post-70 career.
EDIT: Other easy-70 prep things to do:
Get the quest reward boots from the MT escort quest.
Run loads of pvp and save 25k honor and 20 EotS badges for the cudgel (this will take some time though, but things speed up if you do the dailies and focus on everything but AB).
Buy a Sheild of the Wayward Footman. I'm still using mine (and I've tanked Nightbane successfully) - I'm 1 H mech run away from my sha'tar sheild.
Send all your BOE gear that is useless to a disenchanter alt (need to be lvl 35 with 275 enchanting) to give you all the mats you need to get all the necessary enchants.
Acquire the mats for Bracers of the Green Fortress and get them crafted.
Follow the gear guide in the gear forum, and focus your badge purchases (once you hit 70 and start doing heroics) on these three items first - the block libram, the 2.3 armour and the 2.4 legs. These are your biggest upgrades by far and are all items that will last you until you hit T6 (except maybe the libram, which you may replace with the other badge libram).

I have been hitting 11.4k buffed, since lvl 63, so does that mean I am ready for SV? lol.
My def is over the 400 mark as well, and only climbing, the AOE grinding is a blast, but it is time to start to get into Durnhold, i have seen from these posts. Great I was looking for a new challenge. too much fun.
And again a plug for these forums, they are making the Pally tank grind oh so outstanding.

Just did Durn today at 66 and found it ridiculously easy. Got to the point where I was taking 2 groups at once -- 12.8k hp buffed. Im considering SV in one ding 67-69 then farming first boss SL at 69 (I found him cake on my first pally when he was 69). If it gets too hard I can just bring along a bored +2k pally healer ;P or whatever

Durne is disgustingly easy for any pally with a clue-by-4. The moment you hit 66, you can probably tank it, regardless of how bad your gear might be.
And that's deceptively luring for BM just across the street.
BM is both a gear check and a skill check.
- and I've seen people who can get through Kara and thus have Kara gear fail in BM repeatedly. Being a 5-man, there are only 4 other people there to hide any gaps you have in your skill...
I'm on the fence over what over a dozen possible reasons could explain why I have been unable to get through BM. Though I did ding 70 and get the felsteel helm and gloves since the last time I went there.

I did durn at 66, but only a few times. Never got the tanking ring from it.
I didn't start doing the other places till I was 70. I wanted to have my felsteel stuff on before I went in just to be safe. ^.^

I did Slab about 5 times yesterday at level 68 without any real problems.
Was fun.
