tanking Krosh

our guild is having trouble finding a reliable, regular mage for Gruul's.

my question is: is it viable to deck myself out in the badge fire resist set and tank Krosh myself?

we have an abundance of hunters and shaman to dispel/purge his shield when it comes time to DPS, so is this a viable strategy?

I remember reading Krosh's fireball can't be resisted, or if it can its going to be binary. You either take 10k damage or don't.

He's pretty much a gimmik that you need a mage for sadly, maybe someone has an alt they could bring in for him?

ANSWER: NO

The fireball is 10K the AOE 6K neither can be resisted in anyway except
by his own shield.

I give you a life expectancy of about 15secs even with 2 healers.

If it's a progression kill... no.
I've had to tank him myself a couple times(successfully), but i'm at 21k buffed hp and with kiggler and olm and blindeye down, it was 2 healers on Maulgar, rest on me.

Having tanked Krosh with my mage, and once by my paladin by an mistake I can say a few things here.

1st of all, the fireball can NOT be resisted or mitigated with any fire resistance gear.

2nd of all Krosh does a nasty fire AoE (Blastwave iirc) in a 10 yard radius, wich also hits hard, I'm not sure can it be resisted though.

In progression fights, a mage is the only person who can dream of tanking Krosh becouse he only requires 1 healer, allowing rest of your healers to heal whomever needs healing.

And no, warriors cannot spellreflect the fireballs.

And tell your hunters and shamans to remove their dispelling effects from their UI when inside gruul's lair.
