I needed to vent my frustrations about this stupid place. I have been the OT for a little over 2 months now. Almost all my upgrades are from either badges or heroics. The gear from heroics is not that bad, but the problem is that it only has def, but no avoidance stats My bracer and gloves are both from heroics. My shoulder is some blue that I think I got from a mana tombs quest that has like +13 parry on it because my spaulders of the righteous wont drop. My boots are the boots from the mana tombs escort. They are actually fairly decent with dodge and defense on them.

The only items I have manages to get in 2 months are: The belt from moroes, which has been replaces by the pally badge belt. The ring off of aran. My T4 helm from prince.... and thats it unless you count the rep ring. It's really frustrating because the last 5 runs (thats over a month!) not a single tanking item has dropped from a single boss. The warrior MT hasnt been getting any new things either, but at least the gear he does have is better than what I have.

My guild is 5/6 ssc and 3/4 tk and will be moving on the mh/bt next week after we put in a few more attempts on kael, and I have been trying for months to get geared up so that I can get some gear out of ssc/tk and now I wont be able to. I like playing my mage, but I enjoy tanking a lot....

Took 3 months of weekly prince kills to see a helm token. At that point I had so much DKP I shut out everyone by over 10k on the bid. That was on my warrior.

On my paladin, we've seen 2 champion tokens in 3 kills.

Its just really frustrating that NO tanking pieces will drop at all. Since I started tanking kara I have gotten enough badges to get the, Libram (15), chest (75), legs (75), and the belt (60). This was almost all from kara runs. A few heroics and one ZA thrown in. Thats 230 badges I've spent already. The badge boots would have been a nice upgrade, but their lack of mitigation made it impossible for me to remain uncrushable.

sounds like your doing good. Moroes belt might give you more toward uncrushability than the badge belt if you need it.
Arans ring is sweet and so is the rep ring use them both if your uncrushable.

I recently hit exalted with Violet eye and I've gotten all I need from Kara save Wrynns pants and Maidens gloves/neck. Badges have bought me some good gear and I was lucky enough to get T4 gloves til Maiden succumbs to my charms. Keep on badge farming and get exalted and you will be T5 quality in no time.

So Im still three pieces shy after hitting exalted. Keep on runnin Kara, who told you that you weren't going to have to spend several months in there anyway? The pocket watch dropped just this week and Ive downed Moroes more times than I can count.

edit: if you have all those badge pieces you should be moving foward and putting Kara on farm. Badge loot ftw

1) I am exalted, have been for a few weeks now and kara is on farm. We clear it in one night in about 4 hours.
2) No one told we I wouldnt spend months in there.... I did it once already on my mage. I'm just frustrated that no tanking pieces are dropping. You're 3 peices shy after hitting exalted? I'm still shy almost everything. Attuman wont even drop his stupid bracers for me.

I think my next badge purchase will be the 2.4 ring followed by the new pants. The ring will add avoidance while the the pants would just change mitigation for avoidance.

yea for me it was weird. My first couple runs I got the bracers, eternium helm, boots of elusion, arans ring and kings defender.

then i spent a couple months without a single tank drop. either way it seems your beyond kara now and if there is something that you want it will drop eventually on a badge run or something when you dont even care about it anymore lol

It took me about 4 months of casual kara raids to get to exalted. Now for those three pieces that Ill probably never see.

Ran it countless times, never saw the belt from Moroes even drop, never saw the Eternium Greathelm, never saw the legplates from the Curator, never saw the cloak from Illhoof or my T4 helm-token. May god save G'eras.

I have been in kara exactly 1 time (so far, running in a day or so). Moroes dropped the watch and belt the first an only time we killed him. me and the warr tank just rolled random on them and i ended up with the belt. in retrospec it prob would have been better to have him take the belt and me take the watch but we were so happy with our first purples we didnt care what they were. figured we would ge them again since we will be there a while.

Well I guess I get to rant a little as well. I've ran ZA for almost 3 months on every reset, and the only tank drop I've ever seen is the tanking ring from the 3rd timed chest run. I got better healing gear, some dps gear, even got the Jin'rohk and I still don't see any tank gears drop never mind losing a roll for them.

I you go there focusing on drops...you'll more than frustrated coz its random....soooo random....
My first 2 months tanking kara, i havent got a single piece except the necklace from maiden....
The next month, the helm from opera and the gloves from maiden...
BUT, meanwhile, i've collected tons of badges so i upgraded the wrist, the belt, the shield, the cape, and specially the chest....
The only real pieces that you need in there are the T4 helm, the shield from nightbane ( the chest for aoe tanking ), the gloves and neck from maiden and the shoulders from netherspite...
All my frustrations went off in a single run, first nightbane kill = shield
first netherspite kill = shoulders
Got the T4 helm after 6 prince kills ( 1month and a half).

The most important thing is to clean it fast for badges coz it remains the most attractive raid for time/badges efficency...

I'm currently raiding BT and have run pretty much kara every week since May and I've still never seen Maiden drop her gloves or necklace. I'm in friggin BT wearing a blue neck and the gloves I got the third week in kara...
