it seems that right now something is being hotfixed on the EU servers.
we had a royal waste of 4 hours on Brutallus, using 3 tanks (Druid, warrior, me) and split the raid in 3 camps each on the side their tank stood.

According to Tigole:

In the next PTR push, Stomp will remove Burn.

Also:

I wanted to give everyone a head's up that we'll be disabling the Sunwell Raid zone on the PTR until we our next PTR patch (which will be very soon!).

We're applying a hotfix right now that will accomplish this.

The testing on the PTR has been excellent and we greatly appreciate all of the hard work you guys are doing. You're going to help us to make the zone great!

Kalecgos is close enough that we can finish off testing him internally at this point. Brutallus will get a minor change next patch (stomp removes burn). We'll do brief testing on him next patch and then disable him. Felmyst and the Eredar Twins both get major changes next patch. The oh-so-compelling, non-boss mobs also get a good deal of tuning in the next patch.

Thanks again and we'll see the Sunwell Raiding folks in a day or two!

apparently the fire damage is unresistable since its all a physical attack coded so that it cant be dodged, parried, blocked or missed. apparently that might be the same case with kalecgos, except that the physical buffet can fail to apply due to a miss.

Latest version of Brutallus down by MyM(ex Curse). Sign of a good encounter. Hope they won't nerf him too much.

Ya we did die
Closest we got was a 7% enrage wipe
As it stands the fight requires alot of luck for both burns and brutallus himself as we have had at least 10 wipes becuase he does over 25k dmg in udner a second.

retri paladin is a very nice option for this fight. We used one aswell and he made arrount 500k damage which was pretty fine.

But yeah tomorrow we are progressing Felllyyy ^^. gonna be fun green undeads :D

Does a paladin tank work well for this fight?

I havent seen any direct mention of a paladin tanking him...

I haven't seen everything about this boss....but let's say I started working on my retribution set recently.

To be more clear...of course we can tank on it, but a feral sounds like a much better option, and its a dps race. So, its either whack in the back or sit out.

Last a heard this was a 3-tank rotation fight (tauntable)....is that no longer the case?

To my knowledge, the encounter can be handled with either 2 tanks or 3. If you take two, you get an extra DPS slot...

Has the encounter been nerfed at all since the last PTR incarnation? I've got a few days before our next raid, and need to decide if we have a shot at him this week or if I should be taking our crew to BT for one more farm before trying Brutallus. If he's still sitting at 11 mil hp in 6 mins with rediculous dps output, I'm thinking we'll be waiting until next week or Monday to pull him. =(

Er, right. Just noticed that by re-reading the thread above, then strolling through wowwiki, then said "Wow, if I correct myself now I'll look silly for not reading the post on the same page by Atriedies!" Oh well, I'm busted! May as well plan to prod this guy on Monday and see how bad it is, the numbers seem extreme but within what I've seen done to Gorefiend. Unfortunately, a 6 minute fight doesn't get as much benefit from 10-minute cooldowns as a 4 minute fight... Either way, I'm betting on more than one "No more play?" jokes the first time we pull him.
