Phail McSuckalot's (Hon's) Guide to Tankadining Karazhan

Postby TheHonage » Fri Mar 21, 2008 7:49 pm

Honage’s Compendium of Karazhan Tankadining Knowledge 2.0

Disclaimer: This does not contain strategies for the bosses. Instead it is composed of useful tips and tricks that will help you to successfully Tankadin Karazhan. However, for those unfamiliar with the strategies, bosskiller links are in the beginning of each boss section.

Basic Info: Karazhan is a beginning tier 10 man raid for level 70 players located in the Deadwind Pass. This instance has a varied creature type, however many undead and demons are present (although there are ethernals and other humanoids as well). There are thirteen boss encounters in Karazhan, including the chess event and all the possible Opera Events (Animal Bosses are not included as those fights are very straightforward and, although they drop loot, not generally considered boss fights). Again, these ARE NOT strategies, which I'm sure you can find most anywhere, but instead tips guided only at paladin tanks.

Specialization:

My preferred specialization for Karazhan in progression kills: 0/49/12 (Alternately, you can remove some unnecessary points to spec into pursuit of justice for more defenses against casters.) Link: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=sZVhtIx0dMgqtVbx

My preferred specialization for Karazhan in farm kills with 3 healers: 0/40/21 (with 2 healers using 0/49/12 might be more logical, depending on your gear) Link: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=sZVoxIx0dMgoxVfx0hMz

First, a Few Brief Notes Which are Applicable to Many Fights:

- Exorcism: This is a highly useful spell to tankadins. It hits hard against undead, and, as a holy spell, generates large amounts of threat. Warning: Exorcism costs 340 mana. As many undead and demon bosses are located in this instance all boss entries will contain a note whether they are or are not exorcism-able, in Red.
- Uncritability: You must be uncrushable to tank Karazhan, it is absolutely imperative. With 62% armor reduction and 6% from improved righteous defense I have still been crit by one of the trash mobs after Curator for 11k+ (my healers loved me testing this out). To reach uncrittable you must have 490 defense.
- Uncrushability: Uncrushability is not as crucial as uncritability for the majority of Karazhan, however this is very helpful. Furthermore, if you desire to tank Prince/Nightbane then this is a must. (Crushing blows are 150% normal damage.) You reach uncrushable by having your dodge, block, parry, and your opponent’s chance to miss (5 + the amount added by your defense) be equal to or greater than 102.4%. This pushes crushing blows right off your opponent’s attack table. A useful mod to calculate this is Tankadin: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/i ... kadin.html (This modification was made by Chole).
- Spell Priority: Crushing blows – everyone who has tanked Karazhan before has been crushed at some point or other, and it is not pleasant. While some bosses crushes are more devastating than others (routinely over 6k on Prince), and while crushes do not necessarily mean a wipe, they can certainly lead to one. Thus, you must make casting Holy Shield your first priority to remain uncrushable (or, if you are very early in Karazhan still, and are not uncrushable, than as close to uncrushable as possible). Sometimes crushing blows will slip through because of lag or a similar mistake. This will not be the end of the world.
- Alliance Only: There are certain sections of this guide which pertain only to Alliance Paladins. Their Titles will be in Blue.

Bosses:

Attumen + Midnight:

- Link to Bosskiller Guide: http://www.bosskillers.com/cgi-bin/bbgu ... OPABIeTZ92
- Exorcismable!
- Gear Goals: Uncrittable is a must, and 11k hp unbuffed is a fair guideline. 161+ holy damage or up.
- Note on Crushability: Attumen and Midnight do not crush for high amounts of damage so do not be deterred if you are not quite uncrushable yet! This is in no way a reason for your guild to not begin Karazhan.
- Mana Issues: Often on this boss mana can be an issue. Even a guild that cannot kill prince yet often is so overgeared for Tuna that you WILL actually lose mana during the fight. (and if your overgeared…goodbye mana) Since Tuna doesn’t crit high "self-critting" by sitting down with proper warning to healers works well if mana pots are on cooldown. Alternatively throw a Alchemists Stone into your trinket shelf. You'll love it here and in other fights. A final possibility is tanking both – you will lose less mana.
- For Solotanking: Focus on the kill target, holy shield and consecration should hold the other.
- The Pull: A macro is very helpful here! /target Attumen /cast Exorcism will pick him up immediately (if you aren’t solotanking)
- Noteworthy Drops: Vambraces of Courage

Moroes:

- Link to Bosskiller Guide: http://www.bosskillers.com/cgi-bin/bbgu ... OPABIeTZ92
- Exorcismable!
- Gear Goals: Here around the same as above, but Parry/Dodge are VERY helpful. Do not neglect these in favor of HP. Avoidence is king in many Karazhan fights.
- For Solotanking: This fight is, as noted elsewhere, solotankable. Keep a Shaman or Hunter on him the entire fight and use a macro to keep Blessing of Sacrifice up on this mail-wearing “off-tank” the whole fight. They will take one hit, then Blessing of Sacrifice will beak the gouge/blind.
- Oh S*** Response: If your off tank dies and Moroes is low on hp turning your back to him will not allow him to blind or gouge you. Warning: Damage taken will increase.
- Note to Alliance Paladins: If you are using seal of vengeance and have a druid off-tank then use Avenging Wrath before pulling Moroes. Druids tend to pull threat if you have a series of unlucky hits which do not proc seal of vengeance.
- Noteworthy Drops: Moroes’ Lucky Pocket Watch, Crimson Girdle of the Indomitable

Maiden:

- Link to Bosskiller Guide: http://www.bosskillers.com/cgi-bin/bbgu ... OPABIeTZ92
- Not Exorcismable
- Gear Goals: DO NOT USE TWO STAMINA TRINKETS. Make sure to bring Moroes' Lucky Pocket Watch, Dabiri's Inigma, or the equivalent. If your paladin misses a repentance you do not want to die, and popping a trinket like one of those is very helpful. High uncrushability (even over 102.4) helps. So often I'll tank her and my shield will drop during a repentance. Luckily I have way more HP then needed to eat the crush, but you might not during a progression kill. Dauntless Handguards, Figurine of the Colossus, Nexus-Guard’s Pauldrons, or other similar items which have high Uncrushability values are useful.
- Why Paladins aren’t Preferable: She is not a fun fight for a tankadin. You will be able to get off your abilities, however, because of the half a second silence your rotation, and thus maximum threat potential, will be far less than it should be. If you can then get a warrior to tank her then go for it while you cleanse/Blessing of Sacrifice. However mediocrity-geared druids (all druids are, of course, by nature crushable) with only one healer during repentance can spell doom for your raid. Even though druids are designed to deal with crushing blows, when there is only one healer on them (and no heal over time spells) the burst can be difficult to heal. That said, if you do get to tank her then make sure to spam your buttons until the spell goes off.
- Wakey Wakey: If you do not have a paladin casting Blessing of Sacrifice, or he misses one cast then you can drag maiden over to him so that her Holy Ground spell ticks on him once. This will wake him right back up.
- Helpful Hint: This is in no way needed, but can help if you are able. Having a hunter Misdirect pull instead of using Captain America to pull can save you valuable time needed to position the Maiden.
- Noteworthy Drops: Barbed Choker of Discipline, Iron Gauntlets of the Maiden

The Big Bad Wolf Opera Event:

- Link to Bosskiller Guide: http://www.bosskillers.com/cgi-bin/bbgu ... OPABIeTZ92
- Not Exorcismable
- Gear Goals: Not too much to do here, just have reasonable hit points and pure avoidence (over 40% including miss is reasonable)
- SAVE FORBEARENCE IF POSSIBLE! This is very helpful, especially if you do not have a shaman. Avenging Wrath is a really nice threat boost, however we, as paladins, have great threat anyway. Use it if you need to, but if you do not need to then save your forbearance debuff for a bubble when your priest's fear ward is down.
- Helpful Hint: Learn how to run away. No this does not mean bubble hearthing.
- Noteworthy Drops: Ethernium Greathelm

The Wizard of Oz Opera Event:

- Link to Bosskiller Guide: http://www.bosskillers.com/cgi-bin/bbgu ... OPABIeTZ92
- Not Exorcismable
- Gear Guide: Same as the Big Bad Wolf.
- Threat Tip: Depending on your threat and your group's damage you might want to save Avenging Wrath for when Tito comes out so you can build threat on him using Avenging Wrath (pull him using Judgment of Righteousness) and grab aggro over the healers
- For Alliance Paladins: Use Seal of Righteousness. Trust me, you won't regret this. Seal of Vengeance will often drop off Roar’s debuff table while you throw a melee hit or two in to Tito. Plus you will want righteousness qued up to pull Tito. Also, as you are switching between 2 bosses you generate more instant threat on each via Righteousness.
- Noteworthy Drops: Ethernium Greathelm

The Romulo and Julianne Opera Event:

- Link to Bosskiller Guide: http://www.bosskillers.com/cgi-bin/bbgu ... OPABIeTZ92
- Exorcismable!
- Gear Goals: For Julianne you can tank with normal, balanced gear. for Romulo I FAR prefer heavy dodge/parry gear. This can be huge when he gains Daring.
- Macro Fun: /target [Boss' Name who You will be tanking] /cast exorcism can be a great way to pull them when they spawn -- just spam it
- Remove Healers’ Burden: Offer to self cleanse Romulo's poison, or cleanse it off the other tank (a macro can help if this is the case). Make the healer's job far easier.
- Solotanking: Yes, Romulo and Julianne are (quite easily) solo tanked. Melee Julianne while Holy Shield and Consecration holds Romulo. Check your threat on him occasionally and throw in an Exorcism if you need to (threat shouldn’t be an issue though, he has a fast attack speed).
- Positioning: I personally tank them reasonably close together, when I use an off tank and a shaman healer, so that chain heal can hit both tanks.
- Noteworthy Drops: Ethernium Greathelm

Nightbane:

- Link to Bosskiller Guide: http://www.bosskillers.com/cgi-bin/bbgu ... OPABIeTZ92
- Exorcismable!
- Gear Goals: High hp and avoidence. If you can tank prince you should (repeat, should) be fine here. But more hit point always help. This fight is not easy with low armor, worth picking up a epic shield if you have time time/money/badges to waste (In Patch 2.4 Dawnforged Defender and Sunward Crest are two good options) and using Ironshield Potions on cooldown.
- To Alliance Paladins: Using Seal of Vengeance is fine, but if you do not have a hunter to Misdirect every ground phase, or have trigger-happy dps try Seal of Righteousness, or at least opening with a Judgment of Righteousness/Exorcism combo. The faster aggro helps when one of your dps decides to open up immediately upon impact.
- If Possible, Save Forbearance: That said, save forbearance if you can if you don't run with a shaman for a second fear (after the first was Fear Warded), if your dps players aren’t fast enough
- Fear Prevention: This is one of those fights where the inability to “stance dance” like a warrior can lead to fears which cause the tank to receive crushing blows, and be out of position. Fear Ward and Tremor Totem only go so far, so making a macro such as the following to bubble out immediately helps: #show Judgement /cancelaura Blessing of Protection /cancelaura Divine Shield /target Nightbane /startattack /stopcasting /cast Exorcism /stopcasting /cast Judgement. Also, A PvP trinket works well, either Insignia of the Alliance or Medallion of the Alliance. Medallion of the Alliance is preferable as the resilience helps toward uncrushable and thus a lower defence shield can be equipped for higher dodge/armor class (such as Gladiator’s Shield Wall).
- Noteworthy Drops: Shield of Impenetrable Darkness, Panzar’Thar Breastplate

Curator:

- Link to Bosskiller Guide: http://www.bosskillers.com/cgi-bin/bbgu ... OPABIeTZ92
- Not Exorcismable
- Gear Goals: Hit points are helpful here, sometimes at the cost of avoidance, for one reason: you will equip an avoidance trinket (like Moroes' Lucky Pocket Watch) and pop it during the enrage. This will last most of enrage which is the only part of the fight that is difficult. Sometimes, depending on your gear level and if it is a progression kill or not, you should switch in some more intellect and plus damage gear (for example, some of your Righteous Armor) because he hits softly and you may need more mana longevity and burst during the evocation phase.
- Retribution Off-Tank: Help out a ret paladin and let him off tank in player vs. player gear (Gladiator’s Vindication, for example), as it will greatly help his mana longevity.
- Avenging Wrath Timing: Wait until The Curator Evocates to cast Avenging Wrath, and if you have the mana then Judging Crusader can help here to attain your maximum threat potential. Destruction Potions used here allow you to generate even more threat. You can even downrank spells before the Evocation to save mana if you want to – this is your big threat time.
- Snooze Time: Sleep, troll the forums, grab a beer, or do whatever until he enrages.
- Noteworthy Drops: Wrynn Dynasty Greaves, Justicar Handguards

Terestian Illhoof:

- Link to Bosskiller Guide: http://www.bosskillers.com/cgi-bin/bbgu ... OPABIeTZ92
- Exorcismable!
- Gear Goals: Health, Health, Health! This boss’ main damage tends to be casts of shadow bolt. Using SHIELD can help, along with other shadow resist gear. This is not necessary, but if you have it no need for it to go to waste.
- Warlock Tank: Casting Blessing of Sanctuary on the Warlock “Tank” in addition to dampen magic and Fire Resistance Aura/Totem can lower the healing he needs. Taunt, targeting him, on cooldown, to reduce the damage he is taking even more.
- Bubbling is Legit: Worst case scenario -- your main healer gets chained so and the other healers focus on him. You get slammed. Ilhoof starts casting a shadowbolt, a few seconds into the cast you bubble, it hits, you are immune, you remove the bubble, you live. There are no real anti-caster trinkets, but this functions as one, hence the 2 stamina trinkets are ok -- there really aren’t reliable O S*** buttons in this fight.
- Holy Paladin Fun: Holy paladins who are not needed to heal can be good area of effect damage in this fight because of their high spell damage.
- Noteworthy Drops: Gilded Thorium Cape

Shade of Aran:

- Link to Bosskiller Guide: http://www.bosskillers.com/cgi-bin/bbgu ... OPABIeTZ92
- Exorcismable!
- There is no “Tank”: In this fight there is no real “tank,” so you have two options: leave on full plus damage tank gear properly gemmed, etc and off heal using that, or normal healing gear. The Benefit of +damage gear is the ability to pick up the Water Elementals when they spawn and tank one of them.
- Gear Goals: Either healing gear or plus damage tanking gear. Carved Ogre Idol optional.
- Noteworthy Drops: Shermenar Gear Ring

Netherspite:

- Link to Bosskiller Guide: http://www.bosskillers.com/cgi-bin/bbgu ... OPABIeTZ92
- Not Exorcismable
- You aren’t a “Tank”: In this fight you really are not going to be tanking. Instead you will not need to attempt to hold agro at all – standing in the Red Beam guarantees agro. However, generating threat is still worthwhile.
- Dancing: OK, maybe you play a draenai and are getting worried now because you can’t stand their Tunak Tunak Tun dance. Do not worry, you do not actually have to dance. In this fight you must move in and out of the red beam every few seconds (for just a second or two, so the debuff does not wear off you). You really need to experience this for yourself and get used to it, but 5 ticks is the general rule. Once you do this fight becomes far easier.
- Green Beam Troubles: Standing in the Green Beam is generally not the job for a Paladin. Putting yourself at 0 mana is a decidedly bad idea. Unless you have a shadow priest. In this case this is perfectly fine as your mana will regenerate.
- Beginning of the Portal Phase: At the Beginning of the Portal Phase there is a “Pull” every time he enters this phase. All agro is wiped and there are a few crucial seconds where there must be no dps (before the portals appear) and you need to holy agro. Misdirect or Captain America works well here, as it will only be for a matter of seconds.
- Noteworthy Drops: Mantle of Abrahmis

Prince Malchezaar:

- Link to Bosskiller Guide: http://www.bosskillers.com/cgi-bin/bbgu ... OPABIeTZ92
- Very Exorcismable!
- Gear Goals: Avoidence is crucial. Sixteen thousand hit points raid buffed is fine, but avoidance is amazingly good here (also an avoidance trinket). If you are trying to tank him as crushable then make sure you can use a trinket to hit uncrushable right before the deadly "triple-hit." I've seen him hit a tank for twelve thousand burst damage. That is completely unhealable. Do not let that be you. -- stack avoidance. Dodge, Dodge, Miss is what we like to see.
- Have-To-Use-it-on-Cooldown Shield: Yes, that is right, using Holy Shield on cooldown is even more important here.
- WTF? I’m a Warrior?: Use The Sun Eater/King's Defender/[Insert Warrior Sword Here] in phase 2 and/or 3. Exorcism will more than make up for your lack of spell damage, and the extra defenses are crucial. If you have the choice, The Sun Eater is the best.
- Phase Two – Prince’s Painful Parrys: In phase two Prince’s parrys are a common reason for wipes (when he parrys an attack it reduces his swing timer by half, like all other bosses/players). Too many parrys are you will be taking massive spike damage. So, how can you stop this? Stop attacking him! While this may seem counter-productive, you can hold Prince’s agro in this phase using only Exorcism, Holy Shield, and Consecrete, completely without melee attacks/seals! Warning: If you cast a judgment you will begin to auto attack again, so have your escape key ready.
- I’m Hot: Druid Healers are fun times on this boss. Heal over time spells can be a big help for burst damage this boss has.
- Do Not Lose Focus: You may, and probably WILL get the worst totem drops in the history of the World (of Warcraft). You can be healed through one to two totems. If you need, move more squarely into the line of fire of one so that you take less damage. Moving into damage may sound strange, but it works – just make sure your melee are safe, far away from Prince.
- Misdirect Pull: This makes positioning much easier. I used to use a Captain America pull, however wouldn’t position perfectly and the area of effect shadow nova would jolt me along the wall a bit. Every little helps.
- Make it Easy on Your Healers: Self-Cleansing Shadow Word: Pain is very helpful as it eases up the requirements on your healers and allows them to just heal. This is a good habit to get into as it comes in useful in all sorts of places, example: Heroic Mech.
- Noteworthy Drops: Justicar Faceguard

You dont really need to do anything for netherspite. I dont really qualify that as tanking. Plus I hate him and want to make him feel left out.

So you don't feel the need to mention, for instance, how to dance the Red Beam?

A shallow guide for people who are already familiar with the fights. C- Must try harder.
Be careful when you argue with trolls, lest you become one.

Guide's pretty thin on the ground and you've missed a lot of Paladin specific things that would be useful for people to know.

Attumen

Make a macro like this;

Code: Select all
/target Attumen the Huntsman
/cast Exorcism

And hit it as soon as you see Attumen appear in P2 and P3. It'll target him and pop him one.

Moroes

The BoSac trick is good if you're forced to use an unspecced tank, or no second tank at all.

Maiden

Fine for a Pally, just slam your buttons as fast as you can, you'll get them off. If you have no second Paladin though, you are better off healing and using BoSac on someone in melee so you can heal through the repentance.

Romulo & Julianna

You should be on Romulo. Cleanse yourself. Someone in your raid should be Spellstealing / Purging Daring.

Curator

Big tip missing. Save your Avenging Wrath for when he Evocates. Just before he does, change over to Judgement of the Crusader if it's not up, then hit Avenging Wrath, chuck your shield at him, and go to town.

Illhoof

Blessing of Sanctuary on the Imp AOE person. Get Dampen Magic on yourself and him. Use Fire Aura. Everyone stands close, and you Consecrate while holding Illhoof. Taunt off the AOEer. You wind up holding basically all the imps and Illhoof, and everyone goes to town and creams Illhoof before he gets to Sacrifice too many people.

The imps hit for nearly nothing when you have BoSanc and Dampen Magic on yourself.

Prince

If you are being spiked to death, stop attacking him during P2 and just hold him with Exorcism, Consecration and Holy Shield. Save your AW for phase 2.

Cleanse yourself of SW:P, but focus on Holy Shield above all else. HS must stay up.

Nightbane

Get these macros.

Code: Select all
#show Judgement
/cancelaura Blessing of Protection
/cancelaura Divine Shield
/target Nightbane
/startattack
/stopcasting
/cast Judgement
/stopcasting
/cast Exorcism

Code: Select all
/cancelaura Blessing of Protection
/stopcasting
/cast [target=player] Blessing of Protection

Get hold of a PVP trinket if you can, but a Priest will do instead. If you have a Priest, get him to FW you on each landing (not before!).

What you now do is easy. When he starts to cast the fear, bubble, then as soon as the fear has cast, hit the first macro. You'll drop the bubble and shoot him in the face to get his attention again.

The next time he fears, if your bubble is on cooldown, hit the second macro and then hit the first one when the fear has finished casting.

Keep rotating around like that (and using your PVP trinket if you need to), and you can take him all by yourself with no fear wards.

Netherspite

Nothing Paladin specific here, except he's no longer Exorcisable. Chuck a JoW on him and leave it there, you will be mana starved badly, and threat gen only matters until the beams are up.

You can't take green for a full phase effectively, so leave that beam for non mana users to take.

When you are taking red, step into it to get the buff, then step out and let up to 5 ticks land on Netherspite, then step back in until those stacks fall off. Keep doing this (dancing in and out) and you can take the red beam for a full phase all on your own. The blue phase blocker can do the same trick to take it for a full phase.

Green should always be blocked.

There's a few things. Minor mistakes mostly but can lead to confusion.
1: Crushable druid is not a bad druid. Druids can't be uncrushable.
2: Netherspite. You can tank both red and green beam on alternate phases if you have a shadow priest, keep JoW up, you still want to generate threat during the banish phases.
3: Maiden, she hits hard and you will be, at least early, threat capping until you figure your rotation. My personal experience with no pally healers says that pulling her to a healer is a wonderful way of waking them up.
4: Romulo & Julianne. You can tank both if you have the gear for it. if that's the case, focus on julianne and let holy shield work on Romulo for you. Dispels and interrupts don't change. Otherwise you want to tank romulo because he's a dual wielder. He also hits hard compared to julianne.
5: Curator. Threat really isn't an issue until the first evocation, which is when you want to pop avenging wrath. Being the only pure damage-to-threat tank, you benefit from it the most. Judge wisdom and downrank/don't use consecration till he evocates/enrages.
6: Illhoof. Funtimes. Don't bother with FIre Resistance aura if you overgear it, unless you're donig the fight with 7 rogue dpsers you'll be good to go.
7: Shade. I never healed this fight. I play cleansebot and grab the elementals when they spawn. Tank gear.
8: Prince. Holy Shield above everything. Cleanse during phase 2 to help your healers focus on healing. Exorcism means you can completely stop attacking him(turn off autoattack, keep the rest up) and still hold threat fine. Reduces a lot of spike damage from the fight.
9: Nightbane. Save exorcism for when he lands. Have at least one fear ward / tremor totem or else you'll be relying too much on luck. With good dpsers 1 fear ward holds the entire fight. Don't be afraid to spam max rank, you won't be oom.

Responce to S-A:

1: Crushable druid is not a bad druid. Druids can't be uncrushable.
- I understand this, perhaphs I didn't make it clear enough what I meant
2: Netherspite. You can tank both red and green beam on alternate phases if you have a shadow priest, keep JoW up, you still want to generate threat during the banish phases.
- I have done this in the past, yes. Also SPs shouldn't use SW:D in blue beam. Its hillarious. (50k self-crits, lol)
3: Maiden, she hits hard and you will be, at least early, threat capping until you figure your rotation. My personal experience with no pally healers says that pulling her to a healer is a wonderful way of waking them up.
- This does then to work better than having them step in -- if their timers are off this is wasted time when they could be healing, not silenced.
- Thats why I offered options for both -- If you are horribely overgeared you really shouldnt be on Rom.
5: Curator. Threat really isn't an issue until the first evocation, which is when you want to pop avenging wrath. Being the only pure damage-to-threat tank, you benefit from it the most. Judge wisdom and downrank/don't use consecration till he evocates/enrages.
- Ty, forgot this
6: Illhoof. Funtimes. Don't bother with FIre Resistance aura if you overgear it, unless you're donig the fight with 7 rogue dpsers you'll be good to go.
- we used 1 pally tank, 1 pally healer, 1 priest healer, 1 affey lock, 1 ret pala, 2 huntah (bm and marks), 1 rouge, 2 f/a mages (sometimes 1 mage 1 sp)
7: Shade. I never healed this fight. I play cleansebot and grab the elementals when they spawn. Tank gear.
- Gotcha, this is actually really intelligent, I usually just stun one and keep healing.
8: Prince. Holy Shield above everything. Cleanse during phase 2 to help your healers focus on healing. Exorcism means you can completely stop attacking him(turn off autoattack, keep the rest up) and still hold threat fine. Reduces a lot of spike damage from the fight.
- I haven't tried this but I have heard of it, It works well then? I sometimes throw on expertise items instead (phalanx, etc) -- but that really isnt efficient
9: Nightbane. Save exorcism for when he lands. Have at least one fear ward / tremor totem or else you'll be relying too much on luck. With good dpsers 1 fear ward holds the entire fight. Don't be afraid to spam max rank, you won't be oom.
- I do tend to oom on him personally ;P. But for most people you're right. Also, back when I was barely geared for the fight I had problems with air phase and mana -- il add my counter to that as well.

Btw, overal v2 is about a page or three longer, more detailed, and, hopefully, easier to read.

OOM on any boss in Kara is easily solved by the infamous x key.

Excorcism is really your buzz word on nightbane, gives you threat the second he lands, consecrate, holy shield, go afk if you have 2 priests. The bubble thing works wonders if you don't though, or if you are pushing 2+ fears / ground phase.

Oz event, best tactic I have found is to tank everything. drop a consecrate, while the dps kills dotty you get threat, then they focus fire your targets each time, ending up with you starting to run away from tin man (dps shouldn't pass your threat, so just walk away and save some repair bill).

A shallow guide for people who are already familiar with the fights. C- Must try harder.

My red beam dancing goes like this:

Go in, count to 5.

Get out, count to 5.

Repeat.

"Going in" and "Going out" is merely sidestepping a few yards. Netherspite will rotate in the same spot and the beam eventually "let go" of you. Try to stay as far as the hitbox allows(it's huge), so if a void zone spawns on you, you just have to walk forwards, without messing the beams.
