MTing Gruul -- silence
Hello folks,
Last night I MT'd Gruul and we struggled a bit. My healers are good, but not amazing, and ocasionally, especially on higher growths, I find myself with under 7k hp on the silence (once only 3.5k). 2 hits and ouch, if i'm unlucky, I can die. Other than having a dps warrior in pvp gear throw on a shield and intervene one hit so i take less damage (can be VERY risky for the warrior) what can I do? (also, ima nub and cant find the boss difficulty for paladin post, can someone link it?) Thanks, Thehonage out.
Edit: O yeah, one more thing. Bubble doesnt clear aggro, does it? So i might be able to bubble him onto the druid ot, then pull first aggro back off him as soon as I get topped off by the healers

HoTs are your friends.
When the growths start getting up there, you might consider a "bubble rotation" - that is, have your paladins bubble just before the silence so they can heal thru it.
Did Gruul last night for alts, nub DPS died early.
19 grows am fun times!

That's our wiping point. Swapped the boomkin for a tree, raid dps fell by 1000 but we did it. He died at growth 14 if I recall correctly.TheHonage wrote:8 growths at 24% wipe. we 5 healered it btw. no druid.
Against the silence, try to keep your tricks for them
Usually you have 3 tanks for the HKM fight, if one of them is a warrior, make him fight for threat#3 and intervene you during silences. He'll be at full health and you won't.
HoTs are your friend. Having one druid is a huge difference.
I tried to save my pocketwatch's use effect for them, too.Helped a lot.
Demoralizing Shout cuts his damage output by about 1k damage after growth 8~

That silence can definitely be a killer, especially in a pug.
*died last night at 22% to a 12 growth 13k crushing while silenced.
luckily the bear took over and finished the fight.

As the tank theres nothing much you can do other than using your own standard staying alive tricks. Trinkets, pots/HS, bubble works well enough if you have 2 other tanks below you, even LoH if things are looking good.
Its more up to the healers. Druids are huge, but any hot is huge, even if you have say, 4 random Draenei (if your alliance) put up Gift of the Naaru. As mentioned, paladins using bubble rotations can get it done too, if you are short on the HoTs.

I hit my dodge trinket during Silences if it looks dangerous, and I also typically hit it if I cop a whack of shatter damage so the healers get a bit of breathing room after the Ground Slam.
And don't be afraid to LoH if you need it. I saved myself at 14 growths when I was on 300hp like that - I was spamming the LoH key during the silence and it went off just as Gruul hit me in the face again
