I actually just registered to comment on your UI. I love it, is it still most of the same addons you had listed a few pages back? Anywho, beautiful work.

I guess I should have put a list on this latest post, but in answer to Moirid, yes.

The biggest addons are Pitbull4, Bartender4 and SatrinasBuffFrames. All my bartextures are HalD and the font is AvantGarde. ButtonFacade: Caith for the buttons, and the borders are all KGPanels.

Thanks for the appreciation Moirid.

I appreciate the quick reply. I hope you don't mind if I try and copy your design, just for my use. I've never gotten into building one myself but your's is just so...perfect to me. Not too much, not too little.

Also, not to completely hijack this thread for my purposes, here is a pic of mine.

I am using it, not updated it for ages though. Still works pretty well, I add Grid and Clique, and that's about it.

Its been awhile since I posted my UI. It has changed a few times so I figured I would give a before and after of my most recent change.

Before:

After:

Addons:
Bartender4
Decursive
Grid
Miks Scrolling Battle Text
Omen
PallyPower
Pitbull Unit Frames 4.0

I've got Recount and Omen on the same spot, Omen in combat, Recount out of combat. Any other questions, feel free to ask.

I've posted this out of combat shot before, I've made some small tweaks, but nothing that one can see out of combat.

Image

I kept forgetting to post an in-combat shot of this UI, so here's one from a little while ago.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions, would like an addon list, etc.

What is that frame in the top left hand corner above your quest log in the combat shot?

Eavesdrop.

Be aware though, that it can be a processor cycle hog.

Here is my UI.
This is a modified version of CoehlUI
CoehlUI wrote:One thing that one will quickly notice about this UI is that there is a tabbing structure on the right lower panel, which behaves much liked tabbed browsing in a browser but in a much less involved manner. What this does is allows someone to hide their meters when they are not important, and instead show excess action bars, or information regarding CPU usage and other Fubar like stats.

Big thanks to Coehl for all his work on this UI. Be sure to also catch him on his podcast Faceroll Show.
If you want to use the UI in its standered package please be sure to update all addons before loading WoW for the first time.
You can also get great support at the CoehlUI Website forums.

Fugg wrote:@Kelaan & fafhrd:

I think I found the code for the debuff coloring. It's all in unitframe.lua. In function auraIcon Tukz creates an overlaytexture called icon.overlay. And in function auraUpdateIcon he does the following:
Code: Select all
   local _, _, _, _, _, duration, expirationTime, unitCaster, _ = UnitAura(unit, index, icon.filter)
if unitCaster == "player" or unitCaster == "pet" or unitCaster == "vehicle" then
if icon.debuff and debuffcolorbytype == false then
         icon.overlay:SetVertexColor(0.69, 0.31, 0.31)
elseif icon.debuff and debuffcolorbytype == true then
-- do nothing, color by type
      else
         icon.overlay:SetVertexColor(1, 1, 1)
      end
   else
      if UnitIsEnemy("player", unit) then
         if icon.debuff then
            icon.icon:SetDesaturated(true)
         end
      end
      icon.overlay:SetVertexColor(1, 1, 1)
   end

I did not understand this 100% because I don't know what SetVertexColor does exactly. But according to http://www.wowwiki.com/API_Texture_SetVertexColor it is a multiplier to the original colorcode. I guess that's it.

I think the part we care about in particular for the greying out is the icon.icon:SetDesaturated(true) if it's a debuff cast by someone other than the player. Gonna see if I can tweak aguf to do the same, since Texture:SetDesaturated() is apparently a standard API function. Thanks for digging it up :)

Neat, that seems to work :D

need to edit SetAura() in auras.lua to call the desaturate inside the isDebuff block:

Code: Select all
if (caster == "player" or caster == "pet" or caster == "vehicle") then
         --nothing
      else
         buffFrame.Icon:SetDesaturated(true)
      end

add a caster parameter to the function, and then edit the 2 calls to it to find the buff's caster and pass it in as an argument.

I suspect this is actually going to be more harmful than useful while playing a hunter, but it does look cool.
