CLC Prot worth using?
Hello guys, I have CLCProt installed.
My question is how good is it and how good is the default configuration?
Cheers

It's not terrible by any means, but honestly there's nothing better than learning the prot "rotation" by muscle memory. There will always be times where you'll need to deviate from the rotation. I used it for a while until I found Theck's WeakAura's macro, and personally I think that one is much better. It also tracks your major cooldowns/debuff appliers which is neat.
And just for reference, the priority rotation for prot is CS-J-Filler CS-Filler-J CS-Filler-Filler /repeat

I may take a look at Theck's macro and find what works for me. Thanks.

I use CLC Prot. While not perfect, it helped me to start learning the new rotations, and also helps to weave in sacred shield key presses and also telling me if anything at all is available for pressing (in case I got lost). Of course, once you have learned the rotation you deviate from CLC Prot picks where it makes sense, e.g. throwing a lights hammer when healing is needed, using a targeted Cons to get new adds etc., but as I said, its very useful for learning the basics and keeping the rythm. I like the mod.

Warning. If Judge is coming off CD in 1.6 seconds, and consecrate is in 1.5 seconds, the addon will suggest consecrate. It's great for tracking Weakened Blows, though.
I highly recommend it for OS Ret.

Hi, I'm confused about weakened blows, CLC Prot never Suggests HotR, then how does it take care of weakened blows?

It suggests HotR for me.
Are you using CLCInfo with the prot pally module?

Re: CLC Prot worth using?
Perhaps it is because someone else in your raid is keeping it up with a longer duration than CLCProt needs to suggest using HotR?

This wouldn't be the case as I have watched my rotation in a training dummy. But I'll check whether I am loading clcinfo because that could be the problem.

Maybe it's smart enough to realize that the dummy doesn't melee you?

I've used it, it never tells you to use Hammer for weaken blows debuff, it's not in there, it's why I recently switched to theck's weakauras.

It's either clc prot or clc info I use http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/clctracker can't check atm as i'm at work, anyway whichever one I have always shows when to use HotR to keep WB up on the boss.
I started out with Theck's weak auras but found it easier to just have the one box to look at for rotational abilities, I still use several of the other weak auras though.

Re: CLC Prot worth using?
clcprot doesn't by default, but it has the ability to do so, you need to modify the rotation to add it in... sonvabitch, I never knew, welp that's going back on.
much as I like theck's weak auras it's not compact enough for my liking, think I'll keep the CD monitoring bits though.
Speaking of which, what's the ideal priority of the fillers these days ?

How do I add it?

Re: CLC Prot worth using?
With clcprot you just;
type /clcprot
The config window will open up,
Press the + on the left to open up the navigation tree
Click Rotation
an under normal rotation put;
ss wogdp wog sorha sordp sor5 horwb cs j asgc how cons as hw
that's my slightly altered one though, if you prefer the default rotation but put 'horwb' before 'cs' and leave the rest of it.
