Hey hey hey kiddies, I could really use some help.

I'm rejoining WoW after a ~2 year absence, and the whole world has gone topsy turvy! Sort of.

I'm just wondering what new things I should be looking at for tanking Heroics and stuff at 80. For example, when I quit (in BC days) I remember needing something like a 3.41 avoidance percentage and 15,000 unbuffed health. I don't remember much at all though, except the basics. Any help would be appreciated!

First suggestions are to read the stickies in the "Basic training" forum and in this one. Then, look at the consolidated gear guide sticky to look at the "getting uncrittable" list of crafted/quested gear, followed by a look at Petrus' gear list, which ranks gear per slot.

Reading the stickies (especially Knaughty's) are a must, though. Theckhd's TPS sticky is large enough that you really should just peruse the table of contents and look at things that are interesting, though, and then read more later when you feel the desire to.
