ulduar is disabled on the PTR. Prevents guilds from going on the PTR and getting infinite Algalon Practice, and then going in and one-shotting it thier first week on live.

So why not just disable his room? That'd be a lot easier and give more class change testing.

Let's not have this discussion again. To sum up:
A. It's likely easier to just disable the whole instance.
B. They aren't interested in testing from Ulduar.
C. They want people raiding their new instance, where they are interested in the data.

Would falling from a great height test the over-kill or does falling damage cap at your max HP? Also, I wonder how the new AD self-rez will interact w/ Hodir's Protective Gaze. I guess it'll be the same as w/ Guardian Spirit; our self-rez getting used first.

I've seen a few people comment that the AD save won't save you from fall damage at all

Probably the easiest place to test this is to 3-man any kind of boss with a stacking damage buff - Gruul springs to mind, but is annoyingly inaccessible. Maybe the last boss of SP? Take your shield off, get another tank to tank the mob until its damage buff caps, taunt and see how hard you get hit.

EH_base * ((0.65 + 0.35/0.7)+(0.35 * %_hit_blocked)) = EH

Code: Select all
%_hit_blocked   EH increase
0             115
0.05          116.75
0.1           118.5
0.15          120.25
0.2           122

Valid for 1 block within AD range?

Naked means no def skill, which means no self-res.

My naive intuition would be that since AD works as an absorb mechanic now (i.e. block gets subtracted from the hit size before the damage is reduced), it would factor out of both terms, and just be included in "EH_base."

But I haven't thought about this question longer than 30 seconds, so I'm not sure that intuition is correct. Hence "naive." Somebody will probably be along to correct me shortly.

You read this way too literally, but just to thwart you, there's +defense elixirs and flasks.

Do they provide enough defence to get the full effect?

Nah, I know what you meant. The problem is that if you're not def-capped, you then need to measure a range of defense skill points to make sure there's no diminishing returns on the amount of health restored by the self-res. Is there? I don't know. Can I be bothered to find out and chart it? Probably easier to go to Gruul.

Couldn't even sarth work? Just unequip and requip your gear to get low on health, engage and /sit and that should give you the data you need.

You wouldn't be able to do that by yourself though, the trash that pulls with him would rape you before you get any data.
