addi(c)tive amage reduction ?

Postby Wingi » Mon May 25, 2009 2:01 pm

Hi lads !

First of all, thanks again for all your advices !

I've just had a funny thought on on of Freya mini bosse : what if I use at the same time divine protection (50% damage reduction), the H of salv glyph (20%) and a fellow pally uses H of sacrifice (30%) ?

If you add it all, you get 100%, but since my life went down I assume it isn't that simple and some damage reduction spells just don't add up ...

Does someone have the rule for adding these spells ? What about the glyph of divine plea ?

Thanks in advance for your answers !

It's all multiplicative. All of it.

Damage reductions are always multiplicative. In your case, that would be:

0.5 x 0.8 x 0.7 = 0.28 (72% damage reduction).

Now this is still significant, but likely better used seperately (except for maybe HoSalv and HoSac which together give you almost 50% DR)
