Thaddius attacks whoever is closest to him. If you're pulling aggro you're standing in the wrong place.
I don't think so, or he'd attack everyone when they change side.

And if you're supposed to dps, turn off RF.

What dem said. Hilarious how the OP was called a brat when it's all the ppl replying telling him that he needs to L2P.

Unless you are pushing up against an enrage timer and absolutely have to have the extra couple hundred DPS that a prot pally might get by putting on ret gear, it's certainly useful to have a spare tank available in case stuff hits the fan. Unless all the people talking crap in this thread are so uber that they've figured out the game to the point where the MT never dies.

IMO if you need to remain a viable tank: highest strength and BV prot gear equipped, make sure someone's judging wisdom, use normal rotation except drop HS and replace whatever happens to be off CD.

I feel there was a lot of value to be found in those replies, "teaching him to fish" rather than just handing him a fish. Not to mention it took all of 4 posts to reach an answer that was "satisfactory" to the OP who then trolled the person helping him afterwords with a snarky "thanks" and then straight up name calling.

The only thing I've not seen directly answered is the links to any theory or discussion on the topic, thus I offer the following.

Look under gear header.

Agreed. Digren is incorrect, Thaddius' threat table is completely normal.

Gems/enchant put appart, ret and prot gear can have around the same amount of strength.

Even in the cases where they do have similar amounts of Strength (Ret usually has more, but in some cases the difference is only slight), are you really going to gem your Prot gear for Str and AP? Enchants and gems do make a huge difference. Plus there's all the secondary stats. For DPS'ing wear Ret gear as much as you can, not Prot.

Good try, but you're not correct.
Not all gear drops in naxxramas.
No T7 drops there too, only token.

tanking chest has the same strength as the dps chest.

In fact, two of the 3 chest with the most strength are for tanking.

If you want to spent as much dkp or whatever the loot system is for your ret set and prot set, you'll probably do more dps with the ret set.
If you favor the prot set, the question remains open because there is quiet a huge gap between raid10 and raid25 - strength going from 75 to 100 on the top items.

Edit:
I even noticed that only 1 chest within the top 5 strength wise is for dps.
