[MOP] your raid line up composition ?

Postby oldboyz » Wed Oct 24, 2012 2:55 am

hi

i would like to know/share your raid composition tank/heal depending boss

my raid just killed Garajal. we had to go 2 heal (sham&drood. our priest switched to Shadow)
we've try just twice the 4th boss (up to the phase3), look like it might be 1tank ? and/or 2heal?

no idea how it look for the next bosses and HM : are there fight which need only 1 tank, and other fight with 2heal?

quite painfull at the start to have to manage different comp. as spe2 and alt are not yet as opitmized as our main...

Spirit kings normal - 1 tank 2 heals
Elegon - 2 tank 2 heal
Will - 2 tank 2/3 heal. We killed it the first time with 2 healers. But most people do it with 3.

Ours varies a little bit but at the moment its:

Tanks: Blood DK and Paladin. (I notice the DK seems more spiky. especially apparent on spiritbinder.)
Healers: Shaman and Druid(me)
DPS: Frost DK, Fire mage, Rogue, Hunter (switched from his rogue), shadow priest, and depending on whose online another SPriest, hunter or warlock (I prefer the priest cuz hes a better player).

We haven't done Will of the Emperor yet, but for the first 5 bosses we can 2 heal them. Spirit Kings is the only 1 tank fight.

Some notes on 2 healing. The tanks help us out alot with blood worms popping and WoGs etc. Symbiosis with the S Priest is very good on a high raid dmg fight like feng, since it gives him tranquility. Also we had the priest using the hymn of give-me-mana on easy parts in the fight, like when feng switches weapons.

WotE with 2 healers is bloody painful if tanks are still practicing the dance and tend to fail at it.

It's painful even with good tanks actually. Wouldnt recommend it unless you are really struggling in not getting overrun & the healers are exceptional.

These are all for heroics.

Dogs 2 tank 3 heal
Fang 2 tank 2 heal
Gara 2 tank 3 heal
Skings 1 tank 2 heal
spacedragon 2 tank 2 heal
WotE 2 tank 2 heal

same question for new tier T15 ToT :-)

should do a 10raid have 3 main heal, or just 2 with 1 offspec backup ?

I think it's pretty safe to assume that 2 tanks, 5 DPS, and 3 healers (at least one of which is proficient in a DPS role) will be the standard for all 10-man raids, pretty much forever.

Actually, we run with a roster of 13 and rotate people.

This gives us a lot more flexibility in progression, and because of the nature in which we recruit (we require the skill, but your personality is just as important) this never causes problems for us.

Tanks:
Me! Protadin/Ret OS
Brewmaster Monk/WW OS

Healers:
Holy/Disc Priest/Shadow OS
Holy Paladin/Ret OS
Resto Druid

MDPS:
Frost DK/Tank OS
Feral Cat Druid/Multi-OS

RDPS:
Hunter
Ele Shaman/Resto OS
Boomkin/Resto OS
Fire Mage
Multi-Spec Warlock
Shadow Priest

We haven't had any recent problems with swapping, but once a boss is on farm status we'll bring in people who have the most available drops from the boss and have tokens to spend over those who either need 1 piece and don't have a token to spend or no pieces.
