Vanilla, BC, WotLK raids at 85 - quick strats source?
Long time troller, first (second?) time poster.
I am the GL of <Virtuous Iniquity> on [US]Gorefiend - Horde.
We have alot of members who are at 85 that are no Cata raid ready. We want to step into some of the Vanilla-WotLK content. The entire raid consists of 85, and most strats do not apply. I am hoping someone has knowledge of a "inster raid name here at 85 strat" source.
Here's a perfect example from wowpedia.org [ http://www.wowpedia.org/Lich_King_(Icecrown_Citadel_tactics)#Lich_King_at_Level_85 ]
Thanks alot!

With more than a few people, you can pretty much ignore strats in Molten Core and most of BWL (not the first boss). The same goes for Karazhan, Gruul's Lair, Magtheridon, SSC (except Vashj), TK (except Solarian and Kael, unless you can kill them fast enough), most of Hyjal (Archimonde still requires tear usage) and BT.
The first boss in Sunwell requires proper tactics (you have to kill the mob in the shadow realm before you kill the mob up top), but you should be able to destroy the rest before any mechanics are able to kill you.
Naxx is pathetically easy and most mechanics can be ignored (use proper strategies for Sapphiron and KT). Ulduar is facerollable until Yogg. Trial of the Crusader is facerolleable (ToGC is the same, with the exception of Anub). ICC shouldn't require strategy with the exception of Lich King and heroic Sindragosa (she still one shots people with frost bombs).
That LK@85 strat was terrible, by the way. If you have decently geared level 85s (as in, they reforge for hit and they're geared enough to do heroics 5-mans), you should be able to simply do phase 1 properly (while making sure that everyone is topped off before infest, otherwise that will probably eventually kill them). After phase 1, keep all of your ranged DPSing the LK (from max range, of course, so that they don't take damage from the frost AOE) and you should be able to skip the valk and vile spirit phases. Of course, if you only have 1-2 ranged, they won't do enough damage to skip the phases. This was possible at 80, so it should be easy to do so now.
Most of what I said assumes a full raid, of course. The less people you have, the more seriously you have to start taking the fights. Best of luck!

If you finish Kael'thas P4 too fast the phase transition to P5 bugs and you cannot complete the fight.

I believe that this is a random occurrence, as I've seen it happen to guilds at level 70.

Kael'thas used to always bug if his Pyroblast timer lined up with the animation that plays when he hits 50%. Chances are that at 85 while going for the guild achievement you're killing him fast enough that he hits 50% just before he'd normally cast Pyroblast.Belloc wrote:Pyrea wrote:If you finish Kael'thas P4 too fast the phase transition to P5 bugs and you cannot complete the fight.
