[N] Pit of Saron - Garfrost Solo

Hey guys - I only just came back to wow but after my first blast through PoS I was sure I could solo this dude.




He wasn't even hard (although I died once.. cos I'm a nub and need a faster weapon for seal of light).

Just kite him around his boulders and Permafrost wears off mostly - I did get to 20 or so stacks at one point but it's not really an issue.


Use Frost Resist Aura and hack at him. Takes about 10 minutes in 4.5k GS gear with only 2 2 or 3 triumph upgrades.

Decided to give it a try, and killed him. Dropping the stack could be annoying, but my health didn't drop too fast to worry about it.

Edit: Ick is pretty easy too. Just don't spend 9 minutes getting him to 20% then run just far enough away to reset him during pursuit.
Explosive Barrage is a great time to deal out damage, btw. If you're strafing round him right, there's no incoming damage from him and you have full time on target.

I didn't realise they dropped Emblems of Triumph on Normal mode.

I soloed him from 30% to 1% on heroic. Without the LoH nerf I'd have killed him.

Would frost resist gear coupled with high block gear enable you to solo him on Heroic?

As priest I often throw out (mass) dispels to ease the damage income on people with >10 stacks, I think paladins can cleanse it aswell. Should greatly lower the damage income.

I guess dropping Consecration from your rotation and SS>Cleanse in its place. Cleanse>HotR sometimes if stacks get too high.

While kiting around the stacks fall off anyway - for the most part I had between 2 to 10 stacks - it's not really an issue, with the maximum 30 stacks you can still stand there and take it without losing HP on normal.

Because of all the magic damage - respeccing to grab imp sacred shield etc will help a lot with this kind of thing if anyone's getting close but not quite dropping him.

Sarutankah, my friend would like to know what unit frames those are? And how customisable are they?

Umm - my ui changes a lot, the addon is pitbull and the background for the unit frames is kgpanels.

They are very customisable as long as you want squares or rectangles

I was in the middle of trialing a lot of compiled ui's at the time but I think this was Caith or at least based on Caith's ui?


I use roth ui at the moment - but I have no screenies of the huge mess lol.

How hard is the trash to solo in N:PoS? Are there any trash packs you should avoid? I was thinking about doing the trash +Garfrost and Ick to see what kind of gold intake that you could get from that place, and time it would take.

Trash packs are soloable except I think the dragon-mounted guys. Just make it a priority to keep debuffs off you, and take it slow. I recommend having imp hammer of justice and glyph your holy wrath. That should give you enough stuns for the casters, but a bit of Seal of Justice can help. Almost everything is undead.

Sure wasn't hard on heroic, used normal tanking gear+ frost resist ring and boots coupled with frost resist aura for some action against the aura and stuff. No idea of how useful it was but atleast made me more secure before pulling the boss.

I haven't tried again on heroic, my gear is better now but still not as good as Palaman's - Grats dude
