Gear for ICC Heroics

I guess that takes the worry out of me going to those new 5 mans before I would be ready for them.

It drops ilevel 232, so arguably you should be fine with 219 or 226 gear. After all the basic idea is to equip drops rather than DE them because you have no use for a downgrade.

That said, getting most (but not all) of the 3.2.2 emblem gear (ilevel 226), crafting all four pieces of tank-plate and getting everything needed from five-mans (Essence of Gossamer, Black Heart plus all that ToC 5 hc has to offer) I landed at 34k+ health unbuffed on my alt pally tank. Said tank gems for socket-bonuses, 100% hybrid-gems for non-blue sockets, so I guess I could squeeze out another 80:ish stamina if I wanted, but I don't

This should definitely be enough, but sure, a wipe or two per instance, with four other people in similar gear, should be considered a fair enough cost for the neat upgrades these instances reward you with. At least if the entire party is comparatively green to the content.

Regarding that gear check thing, does it only do that if you pick the "Random dungeon" option?

May be turning my account back on tomorrow. Getting paid. My brother, who is so addicted to WoW it's scary, leaves me voice mail after voice mail each morning about WoW as he drives his son to school. Part me of me is interested in them and part of me gets turned off to ever play WoW again. Haha. Still wiht 3 weeks of school break upon me, I am more tempted than ever.

as far as i know, it does it anytime you look for random members, im not 100% sure on that though

The new LFG finder does a gear check on you? I had not read about that. That is very interesting to know!

Well, mostly when using the LFG tool we've had me tank and healer and 1-2 decent dps, we've filled up with dps from the LFG. The other day we got a gearscore 3200 DK for Pit of Saron hc, so I dunno about the gear check thing. But that's the only time it happened for me, but I've yet to get the achieve for pugging with 10 random people.

For me (theorycrafting) numbers are what make the game fun, though gearscore is definitely not one of those.

to me, gearscore is just an easier way to say "I am in full T9" or "I am in 5m heroic gear"
