MoP Goblin profiteering theorycrafting
Ok gents, it's time. What plans are you willing to share? What markets are you looking to conquer? What methods are you going to use to pluck every last silver from those poor saps? Time to share (and plot).
Looking at what we know now, I'm looking at it in 3 stages, Pre-xpac, First 4 weeks, and the rest.
My own thoughts on these areas:
Pre-xpac: I'm thinking I need to level a scribe, mainly to sell shoulder enchants, but need to see what else gets added that's worthwhile. Might be too late to worry about selling glyphs.
First 4 weeks: Skinning in starting zones, grinding out mining.
The Rest: Of course JC, but JC should start slowly. Wondering about what to do with my chanter, lot of competition there.
and..
Worried: Engineering. It appears that there are no "volatiles" per say in MoP, and they've been replaced by the "thingamagigs of Harmony" which drop from everything. Thus, no engineering bonus to gathering. About the only benefit of engineering now might be Jeeves and the mailbox. Portable anvil will be cool, but useless to yourself. Engineering might finally be that thing you want to convince your raid-mates to do.

Hm.. yes. Alchemy might be strong. Might have to drop engineering on a toon or two for it.

Fixed that for you. Although it really wasn't bad for dps/healing specs after synapse springs got "fixed".
I think I'm going to stick to Meta gems. Worked out well in Cata for me, made over 200k in the first two weeks after paying an xmute master buddy 50k for the mutes and buying up all the green gems I could. Metas are a must have and readily available as long as you are the first or one of the few that have a particular cut. A bit risky but if it aint broke...

Come now, you want the other guy to have a Jeeves handy...
Metas... need to look at the source for the meta gem patterns. Likely all on the trainer for the first go around.

New glyphs for each class and monk glyphs (the "rare" ones, not necessarily the "go to trainer and learn these" ones) should be some good money in the first few weeks.

Well, if the wowhead data is correct, the old belt buckle is applicable to gear up to ilv 500, and it will be a good idea to stock that now. Miners on my server already started to empty their stocks at around 2g per pyrite ore.

Based on the current ilvls being seen on beta. Will we break the 500 ilvl (at some point) in MoP? If so, they'll have to make a new buckle.

Oh, something else I just remembered about inscription... the new quest weapons. Has anyone seen a completed one and are they worth pursuing?

Looks like the new Alchem stuff might be mostly from discovery, but it's still early.

I think we break the 500-ilvl point in the first tier of raiding. Wowhead has ilvl 509 epics listed already.

Well that's going to feel weird... I'm guessing they'll update the max ilvl on the belt to 450-ish.

JC patterns are not on the vendors yet...
Alchemy items appear to be primarily from discovery
Engineering patterns don't appear to be on vendors yet
(Get with it Blizz!!! Goblins have planning to do!!)
